Shout out Folkard for "Snacks." 🤣 "Yes, And" the story and the other players. Interested players and interesting platers. Nice video and good ideas.

I like when a player knows all of their spells, skills, and abilities and are ready for their turn in combat. Making combat smooth requires both the DM and the player. Great conversation!

Ooo that's a big one. A player that keep up with the quick pace of combat is a treasure indeed! 5E made it easier to do too.

You spelled "Interference from the astral plane" oddly.

These are all really good points. Fred's comment about encouraging players to take a turn running the game is spot on. Rich reminds us this is a collaborative endeavour and everyone at the table should be involved in creating the story. I really like Folkard's comment about the GM and the players being on the same team: it's not the GM vs the players. Also, I think player's who bring snacks should get bonus XP :) I love it when players interact with each other in-character. Whether they are solving a puzzle, discussing some clues they've picked up or planning their next action, it gives me a chance to sit back and watch them engage with and escape into the fiction. To me, that's the definition of success.

Yes! The moments when we can just sit back and just enjoy the show are priceless. It's in these moments that we can really appreciate the collaborative aspect of our storytelling game.

I like it when players know what they want to do with options they have, instead of treating all the adventures like a chore.

All the agency in the world won't matter if they choose to do nothing! Having players that take initiative is a blessing for sure!

Great talk everyone, thanks. I love it when players make an effort to understand all the other player's characters in the party and not just focus on their own. When they make this effort they work better as a team both in and out of combat situations, have better roleplay within the game, and in the long run they enrich the story by the relationships the make.

Absolutely, our superpower as players is to give others the spotlight and help them shine.
