Thiem makes actually the most sense imo. He's the only one who actually plays in a club. Of course, he misses most matches lol but he's a great player.. he really is. And he always says he would have become a football player, if he hadn't become a professional tennis player

Rafa was in love with football when he was a kid and his football trainers were saying that he could become a professional. Having someone in your family that can easily promotes you and your talent really help when it comes to becoming a pro. But anyway, Rafa would have turned pro at golf if his foot injury in 2005 didn't heal. So Football wasn't an option for so long.

He always says in interviews that he would have become a professional football player, if he hadn't become a tennis pro. But Thiem is still a player and plays competititve matches in an official football league. You can watch football matches with Thiem everytime he's in Austria, but I've never seen Rafa play a football match, only juggling a tennis ball. I'm sure Rafa played matches as a kid, and I don't say that Rafa isn't good, I'm sure he's talented, but Thiem is REALLY a football player, and he's a really good one (an attacking midfielder). So, no, naming Thiem is not a "wrong answer" at all. And it's neither necessary nor nice to try to shade his football skills just because you are a huge Rafa fan. You like Rafa, we get it, and he's great, but he's not the only one who's allowed to play football (especially considering the fact that Thiem really still plays).. and he loves the sport. He even says the success of Chelsea, his favorite club, is more important to him than his own career as a tennis player. As Thiem always says "My heart is blue."
