One question however, if you cut the power being supplied to the camera instead of powering down the camera with its own switch, do you end up with corrupted video files? Some of them will even instruct you to power down before pulling power to avoid corrupted files.

There is no on/off switch for this camera. The way to turn it on or off is by plugging and unplugging power. I haven’t had an issue so far

@@dasshorts7800 If they did it that way on purpose then I have to imagine that they have a battery and a timer to safe shutdown the camera so that it isn't writing to file when the power is cut. Thanks.

I’m getting a splitter but haven’t tested it yet. At the moment, I’m sacrificing my back light.
