Very interesting to see what the "resort" side is like. We sponsor a child in Haiti and have for a few years. I know the tourism helps the country. It would just be hard for me to know I was that close and not to visit the poorer section. So happy to see the beauty that exists there though.

Going to have to look into this port, because I was stationed there, and although I found some "nicer places", but nothing "safe or exciting enough" to be as excited as you are, lol. Thinking this is a very private, VERY restricted section nearly unaccessible by anyone but cleared and approved personnel.

I was at Labadee once but I was not there on a cruise. I was there while on a missions trip to Haiti. It sure is beautiful there. I swam in the water and it was very warm and the water was so blue and the sand white. I am glad thatvyou had a good time. Thsnks for sharing your adventure with us.

RCL built a brand new hospital and school in this part of Haiti. They also updated the water/sewer and electric grid, not to mention the jobs they provide.

This past summer we stayed in Port Aransas Texas and my daughter had a hermet crab climb into her toe. The Life guard had me pull it out because it's considered surgery if they do it. You never know what you might bump into in the Ocean. You guys are living the best life.

@@Chillaxing113 We were in the Ocean walking on the sand and she stepped on one and maybe the shell cut her toe. I helped her out of the water back to shore where the Lifeguards were waiting. I think everyone though Jaws had bit her. The Lifeguards sat her down and poured water on her foot and we pulled it put of her toe. She went right back into the water. I wish I had a pic. We did take pics of Hermet Crabs we were picking up off the sand. There were tons.

This is a private resort for Royal Caribbean. The rest of the country is really poor.
