@@GeoHdReal A great portion of the population is already trilingual , we speak our own version of Arabic , but at a very young age we start learning Arabic and French since they're our first and second languages , and around 5th grade we start learning English since it's now the world's language , and then in the 3rd and 4th year of high school we get to learn an additional language of our choice , add that to the huge population of Italians that lived among us in the late 1900's , most Tunisians of that time could speak Italian almost fluently , so it's a bit normal to see a Tunisian ( not all of them ofc ) speaking a couple of West-European languages aside from Arabic and their own dialect especially if they works with tourists , nonetheless , kudos for the old man he's quite smart.

If u are coming by winter u can go to Western areas in north where snow makes a formidable scenery. Anyway u can look up stuff online and welcome.

@@Tuuliniska I disagree, as a Tunisian, i'd love to avoid the scorching heat and busyness of the coast line at summer and would go for Spring (Winter is too cold), less tourists and more authentic experience in Spring especially when you're planning to explore, not ust be the typical tourist in a hotel room. Plan A: 3-4 days in Tunis (Medina, Bardo Meseum, Les Berges du Lac, Carthage-SidiBouSaïd) 2 days Bizerte, Cap Angela 3 days Tabarka-AïnDrahem 3 days Tozeur-Douz-Tameghza Plan B Typical tourist CoastLine (Tunis-Hammamet-ElKantaoui-Mahdia-Djerba)

An example of liberal is someone who likes new ideas that will bring progress even if they are not traditional. @@h.g.3845 Ok h=i've been through the comments and maybe you are the most right of tunisians. Even if Morocco was not integrated that well in the roman empire, the civilisation and the independant dynasties are unique in the arab world and Africa. Oldest still regning dynasty, the most beautiful palaces and walled cities. It's like comparing Greece (tunisia) and France (Morocco). Morocco has a defenitly more refined "way of life", gastronomy and architechture. Snowy mountains, ski resorts, fantastic surf spots on the atlantic, and more layed back beaches on the mediteranean. Love our tunisian brothers, but no comparison will do justice.

Tunisia has been a legitimately free and democratic nation since 2011 after the Arab Spring began there. So far, they are the only free nation in the Arab World.

Nas Minaj He is not a part of the Tunisian Brotherhood , he’s a professor at a university and has no relation with any political party ( don’t mix up conservative with the brotherhood). Plus the Tunisian Brotherhood are not named like that . And finally that’s what democracy is all about , as long as the people choose what they want , bad or good , it’s still democracy.

@@canneddinners6059 The Arab Spring was a event of anti-government protests, uprisings, and armed rebellions that began in 2010. It started in Tunisia after the Tunisian people had enough of the dictatorship of Zine El Abidine Ben Ali who was president since 1987. In 2011 however, the people protested against Ben Ali and the people won with Ben Ali serving a 35 year prison sentence. This caught the attention to other Arab nations in North Africa and the Middle East, resulting in their respective people to fight against their respective governments after years of inequality and corruption. This is what led to the Arab Spring forming. Prior to the Arab Spring, Tunisia used to be autocratic. But ever since the Arab Spring began, Tunisia has been a democracy (a flawed democracy according to the 2018 Index of Economic Freedom) and so far, they have been a democracy ever since. Other Arab nations, while still autocratic in general, began to crack down on corruption and oust powerful dictators. (i.e. Muammar Gaddafi, and Omar Al-Bashir).
