Love this video. I’ve been to most of these locations as a northern Coloradan. I do think that the Dillon/Frisco area is often overlooked. Which I’m glad about as most people go on to Breckenridge or Vail. There is so much to do in Dillon with the lake there. There’s great bike trails, hiking, and skiing within 10-15 minutes in the winter. Then there’s sailing, kayaking or paddle boarding on the lake. Frisco is a gem. It’s my favorite spot in the state as it’s only 2 hrs from where I live and so much to do.

100% agree about Frisco area. It's a GREAT hub to use to explore the surrounding areas or to hit each of the nearby ski areas. There is indeed a LOT to do and is indeed overlooked.

I’m born and raised here, too….and I’m STUNNED you didn’t even mention the COG railway up Pikes Peak! Like…are you KIDDING?? Come on, now!

Well this video only had 12 things. If we were to add everything worthwhile to the criteria of day trips from Denver, this video would be quite long. I encourage you to create your own video with the Cog Railway being the highlight.

Yay! Hope you have a great time with them visiting! I love being in a tourist in my own state when folks visit from out of town.

I've been to nearly all of these and I don't know if I would call all of them a day trip. The Sand Dunes are a good place to visit, but it's 4 hours from Denver. I don't even know if I would make some of these a weekend trip given how much there is to do at some of these places (Breck/Dillon/Vail).

Yes there is so much to do at these places it's hard to narrow it down to just one day! But we've done them all and they're amazing destinations 👍

Number two The Stanley Hotel has been sold to an Arizona based company

It hasn't been sold yet, but it could be! And it's an Arizona non-profit that's interested so hopefully it will continue being a great place to visit for everyone. :)

Are these places easy to get to if you don’t have a car?
@HashtagColoradoLife Жыл бұрын
Hmm.. yea. Some of these places you could get to without a car for sure. There is defo some busses and shuttles that you can catch to head to most ski towns or any of the places that are within the Denver suburbs. Red Rocks, Estes Park / Rocky Mntn Natl Park, Boulder -- any of those I would think would be the easiest to get to.

This is pretty much the most basic, touristy, shit destinations that you can pretty much just Google. *Most* of these places I wouldn't be caught dead in during the tourist seasons unless you want to spend hours in traffic. Even Glenwood on the Western slope is several hours from Denver but has super heavy traffic. The sand dunes might be the only exception and that's probably the farthest away on this list, not really a great day trip from Denver. I pretty much disagree with this entire list. There are far better destinations like Buena Vista and Salida, Nederland, Gold Hill and an endless list of small towns that aren't just tourist traps and hard to get to because of heavy traffic
@HashtagColoradoLife4 ай бұрын
Sorry you disagree with our list. We have enjoyed visiting all of these day trips and find them really fun and less busy when you don't go to the mountains or destinations on the weekends. Yes, Glenwood Springs can be really busy but we go in the off-season every year and it's amazing! As a local, I recommend all these spots and no, not from Google cause honestly Google suggests things like visiting Rifle Falls as a day trip and that's like 7 hours away.
