Just look at who runs the state. Two worthless Senators, a governor, a corrupt Attorney General, and you can't forget the Mayor of Denver. Colorado is a Sanctuary state. Even my Congressman is bailing out and not running for reelection.

I was raised in Las Vegas. Moved to Colorado for college. Had to come back after 2 years due to covid. Have been longing to move back to Colorado ever since. It’s the happiest I’ve ever been in my life and the people are so kind and cool! I finallr made friends when I moved to CO and I made a LOT of them so easily after a lifetime of thinking nobody likes me and that I was weird. People are just shallow in Vegas. I hate it here. I’m working to move back! I’m about a year I’ll be ready :) I’m going in a work trip to Aspen in 2 days and I’m gonna enjoy the hell out of that! Till we meet again, Colorado ❤️

Define "best"? Smaller crowds and great weather are the norm in September after LD and first part of October. May, June, July, August, the first 8 hours of daylight (sunrise...) are usually gorgeous. But afternoons and evenings can be stormy. Get up early, midweek, and do whatever you have planned, especially during July (monsoon season).

Lol.. well I have never heard anyone seeking that rotten egg smell. Check if Eldorado springs is open yet. They have been closed for "remodel" for a long time. I am a CO native who was itching to see other parts of the country as a 22 year old. I landed it Texas, but appreciate CO so much more now that I am back. My partner also left CO for Louisiana to see a different place and moved back. The grass appears greener on the other side, but I have never seen the poverty level we saw in TX or LA here. One can also never go outside due to the hostile environment: humid heat, fire ants, chiggers, other insects. A black man was also drug to death behind a pickup truck near where I moved in TX. Racism and intolerance of anything but WASP ideals are also much greater. Sometimes it’s not just considerations of the pocketbook. One could buy a cheap house in Niagara Falls, NY for $7000…..there’s a reason it’s cheap (namely it’s located on the old Love Canal superfund site).

A lot of people complain in these comments about how pricing (or any gazillion other reasons) in CO makes it unappealing to live here. People make it work everyday. I always encourage people to live where they wanna live -- you can make any place work. As a native to CO as well, when I moved out of the state, I had similar experiences to what you describe.

Well, not that I would move back to Colorado Springs, but if I had somebody saying to me move back where you came from, I'd have to tell him he doesn't know his butt from the hole in the ground because I am actually from Colorado Springs, my mom and dad moved away back in 1976. And I haven't been back there since I've been in Kansas and in Oklahoma.

These are incorrect. Here are 5 things you ACTUALLY NEED TO KNOW. 1. Our cities are over run with homeless and smell of urine. 2. Our police are ignorant of the law and essentially useless, crime is everywhere. 3. Our Mayor cares more about illegal immigrants than the taxpayers. 4. Our drivers are danger to bicycles. 5. Our Governor is incompetent, the state is basically bankrupt.

Left Colorado for a work contract in Belgium. I live literally like a king here for as much as I was getting paid back home. I was barely able to afford a rental in a decent area of the Springs. Puts how expensive it is back home into perspective. I almost don't want to go back but I'm determined to die of old age in back in Paonia.

Then there is the stuff he doesn't tell you. I-70 traffic is bad news on weekends almost year round. Getting through Boulder to get to Estes Park in the summer faces horrible traffic and then Estes on the summer weekends is impossible both from overcrowding and parking. Idaho Springs, Georgetown, and Breck all have crowding and parking issues. Best times to hit any of these places are during the week, or late October when the aspen viewing crowds are gone and before the snow flies. I did all these places decades ago, as a 43 year resident, when they were much less crowded. Nowadays, when I want a mountain trip, I take US 285 southwest from Denver to South Park and Fairplay (yes, the inspiration for the TV show) and maybe then on to Chaffee County (Buena Vista and Salida). Enjoy.

Great suggestions! And indeed the traffic can be pretty hellacious. CO infrastructure does not keep up with the demand on the roads and highways which is compounded by the insane cost of building on such terrain.
