I actually studied this in sports medicine. Burficts hit destroyed his prefrontal cortex. The hit was actually made directly to that area of his head and that portion of the brain is responsible for decision making and cognitive behavior. And it’s actually the last part of the brain to develop and he barely reached the age of when the brain reaches full development. It essentially turned him from a rational and mature adult in to a 13 year old child. And what’s sad is that the NFL will never allow that information to be released because it would hurt the sport and their brand.

@@stashphl5348 I can see where you’re coming from with that. I remember watching a video of AB in like 2011 of him riding his bike to Steelers practice from his home in homestead to the practice facility in the Southside and loved that. Perhaps from our outside perspective as fans, yes, he was more quiet and to himself from say 2010-2015. But there were still reports of him verbally attacking Dick LeBeau at training camp in 2012, him only getting offered a scholarship to Central Michigan, his scouting report listing him as a “diva”, his step father stating in an interview with USA Today that AB was basically a problem since he was 12 years old, etc. It’s not always as it seems on the surface. I’m no neurologist but from what I understand CTE is caused by repeated blows to the head. We can’t say for certain that this one blow was the tipping point, despite everyone seeming to run with that.

@@mayoluckI’m very sorry to hear that. I have no doubts that it changes people. My only argument is that the one hit from Burfict by itself wasn’t the deciding factor. It was one of many hits that caused his CTE.

"You're so weak" was the same trash talk line used by the front door of Sherman's in-laws house when he tried to break in.

i remember getting hit from a tackle i didnt see coming. That shit left me concussed. Couldnt remember what i was supposed to be doing for the next 10 minutes or so. Dont know how these dudes seem coherent after big tackles like that constantly.

In Sherman’s defense, a majority of the time he trash talked to receivers was when the receiver initiated the trash talking. Not really shown in the video, but it was widely stated by multiple players during his Seattle days.

I loved Sherman, but when you guard one side of the field and the team schemes their worst receiver to your side I guess all you can really do is be mad lol.
