Do you have to rest 2 trees to play kings might because the wording of the card says when playing this card...? Is it optional to rest 2 trees to reduce the cost?

Ngl been out of the SVE loop for a while now. Haven't really bought cards since set 3, but Machina is definitely enough to bring me back. That being said, I'm less tempted to play Standard than I am to play Gloryfinder if not simply for a cost-cutting measure. One Technolord would be cheaper than 3, plus I can try to run all the Machina stuff together instead of having to choose between Haven, Rune, and Abyss.
