Can you comment on the Ruby Sapphire vs. Ruby Amethyst matchup? I feel like it's strongly favoured for the Ruby Amethyst player if they can drop a turn 2 Flynn. (Context: i'm on Ruby Sapphire but am getting cooked by the turn 1 broom/chernabog followers, turn 2 flynn, turn 3 sisu) If I do turn 1 pawpsicle, turn 2 one jump, would I now be better off to turn 3 brawl the flynn, play a hiram, or quill to try to get the prepared against the ruby amethyst line?

You for sure would be better off stopping the lore gain of Flynn. If you let him get his lore for free for more than 1-2 turns youre going to be too far behind to stabilize. You are going to be able to control the board better than they ever will, so keep that in mind in the early turns

Put in Pegasus Flying Steed. It’s the best way to halt Frenemy passive lore, and later game can use as buffer for Lady Tremaine and Be King Undisputed.

Agree. Your match up spread then becomes a little more consistent. You fold a lot less against PurpleRed and GreenPurple, beat the classic mirror, still doing good to great against BlueSteel. The only downside is that you lose some %points against GreenSteel. But there's some ways to mitigate that to make it at least a 50/50 match up. Last thing, it's kinda hard to pilot, so be prepared.

It's not been anywhere near a meta pick for most of the set. I know Speci saw success in the Press set champs held by RB, but it really wasn't in a great position and I would argue it's still not.

@@BobbyMcwho didn’t Zan also have relative success with it also? It feels like it has good matchups into everything not Steelsong and sapphire steel being not ideal as well. Definitely worth consideration and more testing (rip pixelborn) I’d say it’s better suited into the meta than Emerald Amethyst as someone who’s been playing it since before Speci’s list came out.

@@Squizzomatic When we were trying to tune it, it felt like we could make it work vs GS OR RB consistently but felt like we had to sacrifice points one way or the other in matchups. It can still be strong, and depending on your local meta, you may be able to bring a well tuned list for that meta

Nah. Deck hasn’t seen any relevant competitive success and there isn’t a lot of data to support the claim that it should be included in the top decks category. Deck may be powerful, just not willing to push the archetype without proper testing

@@jsavman7 mufasa has actual results behind them which is the main reason for their inclusion. If A/S had a decent showing at the DLC level or even at the CCS 10k then it would have been a consideration. Every deck in this video has seen high tier competitive success
