Nice video and excellent set up...I first learned of using rivers to get into your hunting area in a Field & Stream hunting magazine when I was 12 in 72, back then in my state we were allowed to take deer from a boat...after getting out of the Marines I bought my first canoe kayaking still wasn't a thing back then...it takes a bit more planning...but that's part of the fun isn't it...

Adds a little adventure to my whitetail hunting. One of my favorite ways to do it!

Love having my boat to cut down on walk-in time, and getting away from people.

Would you be able to provide the links to the accessories you purchased like the gun / bow rack the more permanent solution to attach the trolling motor, or other accessories you think are necessary? I’ve decided to purchase the same kayak. Thanks and awesome video!

It’s all on the nucanoe site.

you mentioned hauling it in your truck, how do you go about that? To me, it seems a bed extender would be the way to go, but curious what you have done and what works.

I just put it in diagonally and ratchet strap it down with two diagonal/crisscrossed straps.

I just put tailgate down and let it hang out a little and put a strap on it and I have never had any issue doing it that way. I guess if you had money that’s extra and don’t mind messing with an extension then go for it but I do not and if so there are way to many other things I want lol.

Always paid attention to the water access discussions on the podcast particularly bc I’m a PA dude that’s been doing same thing for years haha. Have used an Old Town Vapor 10 but looking at upgrading. I’m on the same page as far as length & weight preferences so I’m going to start researching this model. One question. Have you ever had an incident where you got a little sketched sitting a bit higher? bumping a stump or anything like that? I’m just used to sit in style.

Yeah. I’ve definitely hit a stump or covered tree that was down. It’ll increase the heart rate. But was never worried about flipping. Boat is super stable.

@truthfromthestand How does the kayak do when it's loaded down with all your gear and a dear? Do you have to quarter the deer out in the field or is gutting it enough?

Tight fit but manageable. Weight isn’t really the issue.
