Akershus is a fav of ours. We don't even care about the princesses anymore, we are there for the potatoes and salmon. But we also like Crystal Palace. The food is OK and it depends on what day you book but we just love getting an early reservation because its so nice and relaxing to walk through Main Street before most people can get in the park. That and we never tire of meeting Poo. Piglet, Tiger and Eyore. I like the feel of the Crystal Palace and its just a great way to start a Magic Kingdom day.
@lindsaymueller80995 жыл бұрын
TheLindsaySue maybe it was just a bad day for the restaurant, but the princesses were the only part we could enjoy at Akershus. The food was absolutely terrible and our bill ran about $300... we were very very disappointed in the food

I had breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table once. My grandmother worked at that exact restaurant for almost ten years, and when I was a little girl she took me out for a Disney day. I got some of the first good bread I'd ever eaten (bad food allergies), and a kiss on the cheek from Snow White that I made last for the rest of the day. Good memory.

Congratulations!!!!! I hope your life is filled with love and happiness. -- First of all, you should know that Disney accommodates all dietary needs, so if you're vegetarian, dairy free, soy free, gluten free....whatever your dietary needs, let the restaurant know a day or more before and they'll make sure to make accommodations for you. Isn't that great? Now, as far as restaurants go, I have 2 suggestions: 1. Have tea at the Grand Floridian - their tea shoppe is lovely and it takes you back in time to a slower, more gentle time. It's open in the afternoon only and you must make reservations as soon as you can! 2. Another "step back in time" place - and one of the less costly places to eat - is The Plaza Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom. No reservations. They have an all-you-can-drink milk shake that's amazing! They also have an excellent veggie burger for those who can't eat beef. The thing about the milk shakes is that you can have different flavors each time you refill if you want. Isn't that neat? So when you want a break from the park, go there for a nice little meal. You can always ask for 2 straws and share the milkshake with your sweetie! Now, that's 1950s romantic!
@IlovTrunks167 жыл бұрын
Sometimes y'all mention that a portion is huge and though you show us a shot of the item, it's kind of hard to tell scale-wise just how big something is. Would you consider, on the items that you find to be very big, perhaps having a fork/spoon/utensil next to the plate in the shot so we can gain some perspective on just how big something is? I love using y'all as a visual aid for planning meals, but it's hard to know if something is actually big enough to split between 2 adults or more apt to being split between an adult and child.
@sarahanne16847 жыл бұрын
I totally second this! We watch DFB religiously and they are easily my favourite Disney Parks-themed channel, but I have learned to take their comments about portion sizes with a grain of salt. This comes after they recommended a regular sized pizza at Via Napoli for two people, and my partner and I (who both have healthy appetites) struggled to finish HALF of it between the two of us!
Sarah Anne ... was it the HEIGHT of the pizza ???? :-)

Manatee4me not necessarily a romantic place, but me and my boyfriend go to splitsville in Disney springs every time we go! Good food and bowling. Makes for a really fun date night. And, they're open late. If you like sushi, the ninja crunch is my favorite!
@AuraliusZero7 жыл бұрын
Manatee4me Make all your reservations in advance. Be our guest before the park opens is great. There is a wine bar in Italy that is romantic. California grill around fireworks time, if you can afford it or have 2 table services to spare, is super romantic. Canada and France are pretty romantic. While not romantic per say, sci fi in hollywood studios is fun and is set up like a drive in movie theater so it's dark and intimate. Trader Sam's grog grotto is a super fun bar to go to at the Polynesian resort. Have fun, make new friends, and get to Pandora 30 minutes before animal kingdom opens if you want to ride flight of passage.

A hidden gem to mention is: Trattoria al Forno at The Boardwalk. The breakfast is a bit more limited but what they offer is really great and unique options. Additionally they have amazing staff. I had my mom's 80th birthday breakfast there. We had family from all over the country come in. They set up a private section for us and treated us like royalty.

We just ate breakfast at Yak and Yeti quick service in Animal Kingdom. It was delicious! My boyfriend and I ordered the kids french toast and kids pancake&sausage on a stick. Both came with hash brown bites/rounds and apple juice (of course you can sub the drink). They were each 6.99 and VERY filling!!

From a person who ate at most of these locations, I agree that getting a meal plan is the way to go. It comes to about $17 a meal for all three meals a day plus more. That's good since a cheap burger meal cost about $22 & you can get that or get a $60-$80 meal for no extra $ then the $17, except tip. These restaurants are better then this video can even explain.
@Mort886 жыл бұрын
Depends on what you eat, there are a number of calculators out there that have proven you are not getting a deal with the dining plan. Since a few of these places mentioned take more than 1 dining credit, having the deluxe dining plan (3 sit downs) puts you in at almost 40 dollars a credit, Cinderellas castle is 2, now you have to pay for a 3rd meal of you want it. Not including tip, which can run (depending on your group size) almost as much as a single meal.

I know some channels shy away from giving reviews of places that aren't very good, but I find a lot of value in these "worst" restaurants/rides/resorts/etc. There are only 2 WDW channels that I subscribe to that will present such lists (along with their "best" lists). I find them to be the most helpful and objective. They're not mean and they do it in a very professional manner. Even though Disney World is awesome, no place is perfect and WDW has areas in which it can improve. Knowing these things saves us from wasting our $$ on a possible bad experience. I know that some of these types of reviews have prompted some of these restaurants to up their game. Just a suggestion.

Super delicious breakfast, even though it was standard fare, and such a wonderful location!!
