I just purchased air dry clay because of you and @lonefox. The first tip that made me breathe easier was the list of tools (stuff I already had.) The tip I appreciated the most is: Going back to smooth out cracks even if it dry. I will be using the clay for preschool crafts and they are so broken hearted when a project has cracks.

Love your videos! I just learned in one of my pottery classes that if you want to use a cookie cutter, put saran wrap over the clay before the cutter. That way it doesn't stick to the clay and it's smoother! :)

tip: you can use the spinny plate from your microwave as a turntable for smoothing! it's not quite as seamless, and you'll have to find some kind of no-slip table liner or other surface to set it on top of, but it works in a pinch

buying a cake spinner or a spice table that spins works well too! i got one at the dollar store!

Super cute!!! You were the second "how to" video and I found it so useful!! I'm excited to try this cactus dish next. Today I got a little nutty and covered the bottom of a Gatorade bottle to make a vase.. maybe. My question is- how do I remove the dried clay from my Gatorade bottle without destroying it?? Or is that even possible- I'm a newbie at sculpting but enjoy all mediums from painting canvas to wire sculptures and I'm anxious to add the air dry clay to my list. Thanks so much for taking the time to read my post and I look forward to your response! Happy creating!!

You made this video so well. I recently made little clay fruits basket (anime) figures and they turned out okay but I had to keep glueing parts back on 😅 could’ve used some of these tips when I was doing that but now I’ll know for the future.
