Help!!! Ferret keeps getting out of Ferret E collar! I can’t keep it on her! I bought more than one from online and they are just too big! I’ve tried to DIY more than one of them and no luck! I am desperate!!! She keeps scratching her ears and making things worse!

@@mbarnabeus yes and a 20oz Nothing seems to work! She’s so tiny and flexible to seems impossible! I seem to put it too tight or not tight enough! I’m going to bring her back to the vet on the morning Thank you for your time and concern

But you forgot that cut bottles are very sharp you may need to cover edges with tape or melt them to soften the edges, good and cheap idea though.

Can i use it on a dog thats 1 yr old? He's head is half gone due to maggots. I'm treating him as no vets available

Yes of course, but only if his neck size fit with the maximum size of the curved side of the e-collar, so it depends of the dog's race & size. Try to cut as much as u can in order to get the largest one possible. Sorry for the late answer, good luck any way.

You can melt the sharp edges with an iron. The type used to iron clothes.

Thank you, appreciate your advice, but I've never had a problem with the edges, just making them smooth scissors, I've already thought about heat to melt the edges, but I don't think it's necessary any way if u do it put on a respiratory mask avoiding toxic vapor.Don't forget to subscribe: more in coming inventions/innovations. Of course that was just a demonstration on how to make it but as I said minimum length depends on the "wound" location but of course, it's obvious that we need to shorten the e-collar length as much as possible to facilitate eating, drinking & comfort in general. Plus, u could put the kitty's food above a support (same altitude as the kitty's head) in order to avoid the e collar blocking it. Last thing, remember that u can use 2 litter bottles for kittens. I'm assuming this is for temporary use , cuz they cannot eat or drink while wearing this . Is that Correct Dr?

Again..this was only a demonstration u have to reduce the length as much possible as u can depending on the wound location. Yes of course its only for limited use, animals dont love elisabethian type ecollars but some times its necessary. They can eat n drink, depending on its length which depend on the wound location. That depends on the length of the e collar which depends on the wound localisation. If a long ecollar is required then the owner must remove it for every meal, this the most prescribed type of ecollars by veterinarians cause its the most efficient one there r other types far more comfy but often not efficient vis à vis some types of wounds.
