I was considering getting these but the shipping cost is hugh at least to Ireland where I live. The sticks are 23 euro then on top of that theres 2 courier shipping options which are either 40 euro or quicker delivery option for 58 euro they dont have any other option like australia mail tracking or otherwise but thats not the end of it the total price doesn't include import customs duty so your on your own as regards import customs duty also the customs duty cost is calculated on the price of the shipping as well the cost of the item so that would bring the rough price for me somewhere between 78--100 euro or 66--85 in pounds. Pity they dont send some to amazon AU US UK wearhouses so that they ship directly from amazon like some third party amazon sellers do that way the shipping should be cheaper and also amazon US and UK usually include import customs on to the total price

I got these for my air 2s, while they do you provide the mechanical resistance and help with the smoothness there's a couple drawbacks/ design flaws. The bottom where it meets the controller should be flared out or something I've had the sticks kind of get stuck in certain positions. Like the lip will fold or get stuck in the edge of the DJI controller opening. This prevents the joystick from returning to home and stopping movement of the drone, so if you are flying near any objects, it could cause you to drift into it. I have found even when positioned nice and flush sometimes they hold the joystick off center which will drift in the air, or if you are trying to take off sensor alignment errors which will prevent take off. I was hoping to be able to leave these on full time, but I use my normal joysticks for most things and only put these on when I need that really smooth shot

I found the same problem. I wrote the company and suggested they modify the design so that one side of the bottom of the rubbery cup be a little longer. I've yet to hear back from them. I'm assuming they know of the problem, but are making enough sales that they don't feel the need to fix it.

Thanks for the great video! I've ruined many a video with a choppy turn on the left thumb. I wonder if a dial control on the Yaw (left stick) would result in smoother turns in the video. The only problem then is how to control up/down... I'll have to go back to the dampening settings in the gimbal control. I've tried taking off the sticks but didn't like it.

You could also adjust the exp in the DJI fly app to slow down the movements maybe that could help also
@merliner463 жыл бұрын
A very effective solution - not only for beginners - I have been using it for a long time, I solved the extension of the stick with a 12 mm outer diameter and 2 mm wall thick silicon rubber tube, I just had to pull it on the original stick! I sincerely recommend it to everyone!

These are cool. For sure! I remember starting out about 6 years ago. I would always buy aftermarket extendable sticks. 10$ or so. They really helped slow everything down. This is a different approach, for sure. If they had these years ago… I’d try. No need for them now though. Great idea.

I tried these out the other weekend. I achieved very slow smooth drone movements down to 1 metre per second and even 1/2 metre per second which was very hard to consistently get before. Great for emulating dolly and crane shots, especially on close up subjects. A little fiddly to setup but a nice tool to help achieve ‘cinematic’ shots.

Welcome to the channel Alex! Great video Gavin! For someone who never touched the sticks before, it looked pretty darn smooth to me. It seems like it is a mechanical method for adding expo and smoothness. Of course practice practice practice, but this certainly would give new pilots a leg up on getting that great cinematic footage they are wanting! I am wondering if those will fit on other controllers from other manufacturers as well? I am guessing if the thread is the same it should. The price is right too! They also offer a long and short combo which is interesting. I understand why as well.
@GAVINHR3 жыл бұрын
I did mean to add that into the video - these are the short versions and unless you have very large hands I already thought these were fine and the long ones may be a bit too difficult to hold. I only tested the DJI but as you rightly say if it's the same thread then would be ideal for other manufacturers
@harrywilmore56792 жыл бұрын
Looking at the resulting flight I think Alex would have got a smother result in Cine mode even though Alex has never flown one before. - It would have better controlled the speed. I think the setup/installation of the adapters/sticks could have been included with more detail as this is paramount in the way they operate successfully - safely. Enjoyed the video though and thank you for your time in compiling it. Hope you found my comments constructive. I had ordered a pair a few days ago and look forward to testing them out for myself. I have discovered that Scotty Makes Stuff will be available in the UK soon and that should help his business a great deal. The shipping cost is quite high from down under at present. Thanks again.
