I've seen 2 drummers do something similar - and I've tried it - doing anything more than an 8th note roll with another person is a *lot* harder than you think it is. Doing 16th note rolls that are that clean - is really quite impressive.

​@@blueknigh7 The real problem is that your brain naturally want to sync up with the beat when you're handling the offbeat notes. It pretty much gets exponentially harder the faster you play. Nailing 8ths on the offbeat is not something people do without practice, nailing 16ths is downright impressive even for two drummers.
