Thank you for these tips Elise. I tried tight lining years ago but because my eyes are so sensitive & water easily that i just couldn't get it. I love how it makes your eyelashes look fuller so you've inspired me to try again.

Hi--Yes, it can definitely be a beautiful look but can sometimes be hard on sensitive eyes.

Is waterproof or a specific pencil that’s made for sensitive eyes
@EliseMarquamJahns2 ай бұрын
@@rhondapelletier2141 Hi, Rhonda--For tightlining, it's always best to use a waterproof pencil or waterproof gel eyeliner. Any kind of tightlining--no matter what product is used--can be irritating to sensitive eyes. I hope this answers your questions.

Hi Elise! Thanks for these great tips! If I’m using an eyeshadow for eyeliner, which I often do, I use SG or ND. They’re my go to eyeshadows anyway. I don’t think I’ve ever used anything in my waterline. I go under the lashes with a slanted brush and tap into my lashes. Then I go over the top on the outer 2/3 of my lashes. I hope you and hubby are both doing well! Take care and have a blessed weekend!❤

Hi, Lisa--You certainly can't go wrong using SG or ND eyeshadow! It sounds like you have a perfect routine in place--which doesn't surprise me at all, dear lady. Sending warm wishes your way!

Thank you, Elise, for this especially helpful video! Because I have a fair complexion and light colored eyes, eyeliner is a must for me! I find that using eyeliner topped with a thin eyeshadow application works best for me. After watching your previous video, I ordered the Revant eyeliner and it did not disappoint! It's very easy to apply and lasts until I remove my makeup in the evening! I plan to order another color... maybe even more!

Hi, Kim--I'm glad to hear that you're loving the Revant eyeliners as much as I do. And I'm so glad they've come out with some additional, lovely colors. Eyeliner topped with a thin coating of eyeshadow is a really wonderful way to go! Have a wonderful weekend, Kim.

Thank you for these tips Elise. I use eye pencil topped with eyeshadow or eyeshadow alone applied with an angled brush. Both work very well. I do even out my eyelids with concealer topped with powder. I find both methods last the day for me. Actually, I tried the eyeshadow alone method because of you and am so pleased with the results! Eyeliner makes such a difference to my 62 year old face. I feel like "myself" when my eyeliner is on, if that makes any sense? Thank you for continuing to provide your "expertise" to us. I love makeup just as much as when I was younger, and am not going to give it up! I loved the Lauren Hutton Face Disk and her skin care! It was ahead of its time. Take care.xx

Hi, Michelle--You are so right about eyeliner making such a difference. And I definitely understand what you mean when you say you feel like "yourself" when you wear it. Yes, even just a little makeup can make such a huge difference in how we look and feel. And I think those of us who enjoy makeup are really fortunate since it can be so much fun to try different products, colors, etc. and experiment. I think of it as my adult version of coloring with crayons (which I used to love to do).

Great tips Elise, this heavy hooded eyed gal appreciate it. I am going to check out the Clinque eyeliner with the small sponge on the end for smudging , I am curious to see if it's waterproof. That's the only kind of eyeliner I can wear and not all that say they are waterproof really are.... Have a great day dear ~ Hugs, Gale The Happy Stamper :)
@EliseMarquamJahns2 ай бұрын
Hi, Gale--So lovely to hear from you. The Clinique eyeliner says it's "water-resistant" but unfortunately doesn't specifically say it's "waterproof." And you're so right that even products that are described as waterproof definitely don't work for all of us. Wishing you all the best, my friend.

Hi, Elise! Great tips, and as always, you look lovely. 🩷 I learned many moons ago that tightlining (aka "invisible eyeliner") does *not* involve the waterline at all. You approach the lash line the same way, from underneath, but the liner goes right between the lashes themselves. You wiggle the liner between the roots of the lashes, avoiding the waterline itself. The lashes look magically thicker without a discernable line. I remember it taking me a while to get the hang of it, though, as it does feel strange! I think a fine-tipped pencil works best for this technique; most brushes are too wide and floppy, and difficult to control in such a tiny space. Thus endeth my TED Talk. 😉

A budget friendly dupe/alternative to UD’s Eden eye primer is Profusion’s Neutral pigment base. I can’t tell the difference between the 2 primers.

I'm 61 years young. I lost my eyelashes ten years ago due to alopecia. While some hair on my head has grown back, my eyelashes haven't returned. Tightlining has been essential for me, and my eyes have tolerated it well so far. I tried lash extensions, but there wasn't enough lash to hold them, and applying fake eyelashes is a hassle. Thanks for the video!

These were great tips, Elise. I long ago began using powder as eyeliner (having learned that during my Mary Kay days) when I discovered how much easier it is to just use the shadow, wet or dry, and also that I would always be able to match/coordinate shadow and liner. I was never very fond of tight lining. It looks fabulous but having suffered styes (twice in 2 years, after having NEVER had them before in my life), I never wanted that experience again. Great to hear about the Inglot and Make Up Forever options. I'll keep my eyes peeled for those!!
@EliseMarquamJahns2 ай бұрын
Hi, Johanna--We have Mary Kay in common! That was my first major makeup experience long ago. Yes, tightlining does indeed look fabulous, but I'm with you--I'd rather not take a risk (especially after 4 eye surgeries in one year!) And using eye shadow is just easy and convenient.
@johannaholmgren80882 ай бұрын
@EliseMarquamJahns Not only that, but the powder does a fantastic job of looking soft and smoky with almost no effort at all. Btw I hope your eyes are doing well!! (Re: Mary Kay--do you remember that original foundation that had to be mixed with water? I LOVED that foundation and was gutted when they stopped making it. I was so desperate to find a replacement! I eventually found a powder foundation from Merle Norman (that they still make) that I really liked. I often wish I could get my hands on those favorites from my younger days!
