Good review. FYI, if you're using the magnetic tail on the Tool AA, you twist the head to turn the light on and off, not the tail. You can also use the twist head to cycle up through the modes as well and it will also work with the tail switch. Awesome, awesome lights!

Hey! Thanks for the input. Most of the time I pull these things out of the box right on camera, the tool AA I use with the tail switch so I didn't know that about the magnet. I usually intend to do another video after use, but work is crazy right now. Thanks for watching 👍

Yup. That's exactly how I use my Tool AAA. Had it for years and prefer this method of operation over the tailswitch. It's a 2 handed affair to turn on but hands free in use

Also if you cycle through on and off 6 times it will enter strobe

I got the Tool AA a few weeks ago, amazing light, I;m using a 14500 battery, the output is crazy, really impressed.
@ContractorsPOV2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that 14500 battery is the best! Did you have any problems finding the battery? My normal brand is not available anymore.

@@ContractorsPOV Just got some off ebay, they seem pretty good. They are marked 6TF, not sure if it's the make, black with gold writing.

@@swanseamale47 very nice. Thanks for responding and thanks for watching. I think I'm going to pick up the copper one before the end of the year. I like the way that one looks.

My favorite part of the review? The part where he didn’t hold the lights side-by-side so you could compare the size.

On aliexpress you can get both with neutral white led's around 4000k.

Regarding the Lumintop Tool AA, can IMR Li-ion AAs be used?

You might have mentioned that the blue tail switch glow light is easily deactivated with just a slight twist. This is important to mention because for some people that glow light is very annoying as it slightly drains the battery.
@ContractorsPOV2 жыл бұрын
That is very true! I don't script my videos so sometimes I forget to mention things like that. I appreciate you mentioning it, hopefully someone will read your comment and get that info! Thanks for watching 👍
@onedirection35102 жыл бұрын
@@ContractorsPOV My pleasure. As it occurs to me and also noteworthy is the fact that the blue tail switch light only comes on with the 14500 battery. If someone were to choose to use regular AA batteries the glow light does not activate. I sometimes prefer the AA rechargeable (Eneloop for ex) because they get higher lumen output and runtimes than the AA alkaline.
@SodiumSyndicate Жыл бұрын
@@onedirection3510 Instead of using AA rechargeable, just use 14500, it is lighter, has more output. AA Alkaline is meant only for emergencies.

If you have to pick just one mate, which will you choose of the two?

how do you switch it on if you put the magnetic tailcap?

Two ways to select outputs: Tail switching or twisting the head

How sturdy is that clip? I clip it onto my hat alot. How well it stays on the hat is very important
@ContractorsPOV2 жыл бұрын
I actually do the same thing. I will clip it when I don't have my headlamp on. It clips just fine, but if you bump it, it does turn, but that's to be expected. Thanks for watching 👍

Great review thankyou. Iv just bought one before watching this, and I agree with you. It’s a great torch and is now my go to above my others

You can also just loosen the head when using the magnetic tail, so it acts just like a twisty light.
@ContractorsPOV2 жыл бұрын
I've tried that and it keeps coming all the way undone in my pocket. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I just stick with the tails switch and it works for me. Thanks for watching!
@jseden2 жыл бұрын
@@ContractorsPOV hmm. I usually only unscrew my twisty heads maybe 1/4 turn. But if the resistance to keep it out just isn’t there, than it isn’t there.. maybe a slightly larger oring? 🤷♂️

Один из главных плюсов данного фонарика; это его всеядность элементов питания.

The EDC AA has a strobe mode, and I dont know how to make it work.
@ContractorsPOV Жыл бұрын
Available modes: Low, Medium, High, Turbo Strobe The switch is a forward clicky, which is a little uncommon in this size and type of flashlight. Tapping the switch will change modes, while a full click will lock the mode. From OFF: Half-press: momentary light (quick half-pressing for changing modes) 6 half presses: strobe Single-click: On (last used mode) From ON: Half-press: Cycle through the menu from Low to High Single-click: Off Mode memory: Yes Blinky modes menu: It has only 1 blinky mode, namely strobe. To enter strobe mode is not easy. It requires 6 quick taps, and that’s the difficulty. One side I like that strobe is difficult to reach. At the same time, for people liking to use strobe, it’s not very easy to enter.
@saprissa9 Жыл бұрын
@ContractorsPOV you're right. By the time I want to use strobe, I might be on the ground bleeding.
