My favorite reaction will forever be my dad’s. I was 22, single and terrified. My mom was also worried about his reaction and called him and he hung up on her. Not two seconds later, my phone was ringing. Before I could get the words “Hi, Daddy” out of my mouth he hit me with “When can I start telling people?” He was excited the nanosecond he learned he was going to be a papa. Nearly 12 years later and that boy is his best friend. My dad is not a violent man, he doesn’t even yell, he just kinda shuts down. My mom is the only one who can get him to stay present in tough situations, which is why she is the one to tell him the tough stuff. Trauma is fun.

This is so beautiful. My stepdad did this for me when I was 19 and terrified and my mother had just told me that I had ruined *her* life. He told her to shut up, that it wasn’t about her. He was there for me from the first second and 15 years later he is a wonderful PopPop! ❤

My dad always said that if one of his girls came home pregnant without being married, he would throw her out of the house. So, at 23, beeing the youngest of three girls, when I found out, I was pregnant, he just said: Ok, I had already figured it out. Now, you have to get married, as soon as possible. A few weeks later when we had our first ultrasound he was waiting by the phone. We announced him we were having a boy, he cried.

I remember when I told my oldest sister that I was going to have a baby, this was just 2 months after I was married. She yelled at me and said it was too early to have a baby. SADLY I lost the baby just a few days later and my husband was murdered by a drunk driver just 2 and a half weeks later. PRAISE THE LORD, three weeks after his death I found out I was pregnant with our daughter. Reactions to pregnancy announcements can be bad sometimes.

Omg I'm so sorry this happened. My older sister wasn't happy when I got pregnant right away after getting married either. She'd been trying for nearly 5 yrs and I got pregnant easy. Ended up 2.5 months after me she finally got pregnant. My son was born mid July hers early Oct. I went on to have 3 more 4 yrs. She took 5 yrs get pregnant again it was tubal and she lost it and her tube then an ovary to cysts. Never had any more. She always resented me having babies so easily. So happy u got your daughter to help u thru all the grief.

I think they’re just in shock. My husband asked me if I was serious because we weren’t planning on getting pregnant. I never wanted to have kids. I was on birth control and everything. So I was just as shocked when I looked and saw those 2 lines. I kept asking if it was actually happening. As a nurse I knew that urine pregnancy tests could have false positives and negatives. But blood test can only be positive if I’m pregnant or I have rare types of cancer. So I went to planned parenthood. When I told my husband I needed to go to planned parenthood immediately. His big smile completely vanished and he looked sad. I didn’t understand why he was so sad all of a sudden. When I realized I had told him over and over again I didn’t want to have kids. So I immediately started to apologize to him. I asked if he thought I wanted to have an abortion. When he slowly nodded I immediately said NO NO NO NO BABY!!! I want to get a blood pregnancy test!!! They offer them and since we had just moved to a new city I didn’t have an OBGYN yet. It also was only $20-$30 dollars. When it came back super positive he actually cried.
