Can't say about performance..but if your car runs a lot day then 5w- 40 will be better and try to use fully synthetic or altleast semi synthetic original of genuine company for the long life of engine ..it will make less sludge in your engine and protect your engine parts..and if your car run a lot keeping checking the engine oil level ..

U can go for Semi and fully synthetic oils. 5W40 is a better grade. Apart from it there is no harm in experiencing both grades yourself. Depends totally on the driving pleasure , go for one which delivers the best.

@@CarValueServices it's a diesel engine, and manual book shows 5w 30 grade, and recently I visited suzuki service station for my car service, the service executive changed the engine oil which they put 0w 16, and I asked to them that the grades of engine oil for swift are different so why so this? So they didn't gave me the perfect answer.

@@JugalDasani I have a diesel swift 2013 model, i m using magnatac 15 w40. And it works like wonder. Now anything lower than this will circulate even better and will be stable even at high temperatures.

Two options you have, in your case I will suggest you to go with synthetic oil ACEA 5W30 A5B5
