They look great!! Thanks for the quick review. A few questions: 1. Do you usually run slime in your tires? Would you recommend it for this tire? It looks pretty sturdy, so not sure if I could get away without it. 2. Did you manage to see any range drop because of the wider contact patch (more friction)?
@ELECTRIC-DNA2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I don’t run slime but I do like tire liners. Super cheap and reusable. Slime has always caused me more issue than it’s worth imo. I need to put some liners in these. Not sure on range in comparison just yet to be totally honest. Only one real ride in so far on em.
@ttkuratani2 жыл бұрын
@@ELECTRIC-DNA cool! I'll check liners instead, then. I run slime on my MTboard. Although I never had a problem with it, it adds a lot of weight.
@fujio0012 жыл бұрын
Slime is not a very good tire sealant for PEVs. I run Flat Out. It is relatively inexpensive and available from Amazon. Overall it is a better sealant that lasts way longer in your tubes compared to Slime and has better puncture sealing. Regardless of whether or not you run a sealant, it is still a good idea to carry a spare wheel/tire. Just a couple days ago I pulled out part of a utility knife blade. No sealant is going to seal a large cut.

I just got my ares today with the 200mm tires. They’re massive. I’m used to the exway wave tires lol so those are tiny comparatively. I’m really enjoying this eakate hobby. Where did you purchase your shin/knee pads? And chest armor and back armor?

Apologies for the possibly dumb question, but I wonder if these tires/tubes would fit on my meepo racing wheel hubs. I have enjoyed those, but the tires are wearing down so quickly. Already looking for another solution. I just want to avoid anything sunmate at all costs because they are awful.
@ELECTRIC-DNA2 жыл бұрын
No sweat. I’m not 100%. Meepo doesn’t have a lot of measurements on their site and I don’t own those hubs to try. These BKB tires have a inner diameter of 93mm (the “hole” of the tire). You could pull a tire and measure them to see what yours are and go from there.
@twopistonpsycles9422 жыл бұрын
You're actually wrong about the sidewalls having to be more rigid, that's true for motorcycle or two wheel vehicle tires. On 4 wheel applications the floor of the tire is supposed to be more rigid for full contact with the road and softer sidewall to maintain full contact while turning and carving. It would be nice if someone did their research and produced actual road tires for esk8. Thank you for your review.
@michaelsuttner39542 жыл бұрын
Good to know they fit the standard rim however dont you think the wheel pulley will scrape a lot? When you go from an 8 to a 6, its drastically lower clearance, 1" to be exact
@ELECTRIC-DNA2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I’d recommend sticking with 8” if you’re going to be offroad a lot. But I had to send it so we could see how these tires did offroad. Thanks for watching 🤙

I currently can get up to 36 mph on my AceDeck on the 8inchers. So putting these smaller tires on actually made the board go a tad slower?
@ELECTRIC-DNA2 жыл бұрын
Yes, keeping the gearing the same but changing to a smaller tire will lower the top speed. If you wanted to increase your speed but run smaller tires you would need to either increase your motor gear or dew erase your wheel pulley teeth count. A handy tool is this esk8 calculator where you can input your voltage (10S, 12S, 14S etc), your motor and wheel tooth count and the size of your tire to find out what your speeds will be. calc.esk8.it

@@Catamount19 I took the complete wheel off the Acedeck, deflated them and then unscrewed the 5 bolts holding the wheel hub together. That lets you remove the tire/tube. Then place the BKB tire/ tube onto the hub, screw the two pieces of the hub back together, place back on the trucks and you’re good to go. 🤙
