I live off dividends on ETFs, for sure it can improve your wealth if you reinvest them to buy more shares, creating a snowball effect that allows your investments to compound over time. It's one of the most passive and effective ways to build an income stream. well managed steady growth for me.
@Msmelissa-u1w2 ай бұрын
Ethel have you considered the possibility of cashing out some of those dividends for paying off your monthly expenses, instead of re-investing them? Bcos I need a lot as rent, inflation alone eat up almost all of what I make.

While VOO and QQQ growth etfs have some alternatives in EU, schd do not have anything close to it. @thetomcrosshill Жыл бұрын
I'm not a Swiss tax expert, but my understanding is generally that it's a bit more complicated - cap gains are tax free for most people, but not tax free if you are considered a professional investor - and there one of several criteria is the holding time for your investments (the 6 month limit). So if in doubt, one should always consult a tax advisor.

Hi! I usually don't go into country-specific detail on my channel - I cover that in my training courses. One quick takeaway is that Ireland's tax situation is not the friendliest toward index and ETF investors so it's great if you can invest through a pension wrapper where the tax issue is removed.
