Traditional martial arts are very limited; There is so much Hollywood Choreography contained therein. Unnecessary techniques.

@@SilverC3ll Yeh, there are a few good "Traditionalists" out there----but in a hard core street fight, most of those traditional forms are mostly useless. It depends on the individual.

@@SilverC3ll A lot of acrobatic stuff; My type of training is geared toward the reality of Combat itself...not 'Flowery' visual movements that do not deter a serious attack.

Hey brother, I believe the traditional arts were developed in classical times in which one could not get away with nonsense. People had to fight in life and death scenarios; wars have been fought with these arts. I agree that the TMA are failing to stand their ground, but I don't believe it is because they are originally ineffective. I say the cause of failure lies elsewhere, such as the Cultural Revolution persecuting the masters, and modern generations not practicing combat-oriented, no semi or full contact fighting, etc. I believe modernism also disallows a certain mindset or mode of conduct essential to the internal development. Sports conditions may also not allow these arts to be used as intended (big clumsy gloves for example). In general, I feel that the Ancients have left something too sophisticated and deep for a shallow, younger generation that cannot follow in the footsteps of the ancient masters.

@@SilverC3ll Bottom line: These "Traditional" martial artists would be OBLITERATED in an MMA cage. They would also be de- stroyed against R.A.T. Military Combat. In other words-----Modern, ADVANCED fighting methods stand much Taller than these old, archaic "Systems," my friend. No disrespect intended----just Hard-core common sense. Thank you.
