Great review! I never seriously considered the Fantom R because of the size, so this is definitely a much more appealing wallet. That price is unfortunate, especially when the accessories for other features will add even more to the price.

Fabulous! The very best. Cards fit in and hold secure, as mentioned in the video with embossed cards you might not be able to put 13 cards in but 12 - no issue! Will buy a second one for the remaining cards I can’t put in (nowadays you just carry so many …). Also it never scratched a card. Top card holder *******!!!!

The fanning mechanism is much better than the first wallets they had, I used their Fantom R for about 3 years and it definitely is bigger and the fanning wasn’t great, I still liked it though. The size of this Fantom X is so much better and the fanning works way better, easier to access any card although I mainly use the one in the front. I don’t carry cash so that doesn’t matter to me, I do have the ID Holder which I’m a big fan of. It is pricey for what it is, and doesn’t feel as premium in my opinion, those are my downsides. Overall, I’d recommend still.

The biggest let down with the Phantom wallet was when ever you shook it your cards almost fell out they were quite loose have they fixed this issue???

I've used the original Fantom for 4 years and while I loved the size and the convenience of it, I absolutely hated how much it scratched all my cards. Something to keep in mind for anyone who is considering getting this wallet.

I might be wrong, but your embossed cards test does not reflect reality, the digits seem to fit into each other between one card and the next since they're all the same digits "1234 ..", perhaps you can get embossed cards with different digits to test?

That would be easy to see but they do provide the standout without securing into each other. The protrusion is thicker than the concave so it still works!

Yep, that's why when he tries to fan the cards out by hand at 4:22, you can see the middle ones locked in with each other.

Great review as usual and agree with everyone that it's far too expensive for what is essentially a nice box with a couple of tricks (pressure plate and lever) This is just a personal preference but I can't see myself carrying any hard wallets, prefer something softer and pliable like leather and so far the best I've seen (and use as my EDC) is the Vaultskin Chelsea - 4 embossed cards and some cash.

The X doesn't use magnets, just the C as it's designed to work with MagSafe.

I find myself liking metal wallets less and less. I have several, but prefer my leather wallets, by far. Never been a fan of the Phantom and that price tag on the X is a hard no.

Great video, I prefer the r over the x due to the fact the x was relatively small in my hands, I have pretty large palms especially for my size but the size of the r is more comfortable in my hands

Love the X but the coin accesory is truly annoying. Why do everything have to open up just to take out few coins? Its silly. The design could havet turned out a lot better with a separate hinne design for the coin compartment and not as it is on the current design or even a lach design. Far more practical and much easier and more elegant handling if there was a screw on the side or two on top creating a latch mechanism

Those prices are ridiculous. They are selling them on insta for around 70 dollars which is still over the price it should be. It's not high tech engineering nor expensive to build so the price is off.

The material and build looks really good. That gap snaps closed and the potential of it breaking when dropped is a possibility but something I haven’t proven yet. If we start seeing issue then it would affect the score.
