Floyd is the complete package. Mitt work? Nothing like it. He does so much on the mitts that people fail to realize. Timing, intuition, counters, speed, accuracy, coordination, blocking and catching shots, then countering, feints, pivoting, momemtum,.upperbody movement, and so on and so on, all in a continuous rhythm. Going from defense to offense back to defense, back to offense. Kmows his distance, how to time you, fake you out and his punches are damn near flawless. So smooth. So sharp. So poised. Just gets in a zone and it's like poetry in motion. Amazing movement, best footwork out of them all. Sees your movement before you realize that he does, he's already 3 steps ahead of your next move. He breaks you down and takes your best weapons away from you, systematically and psychologically breaking you down, and frustrating you....Master technician in there, subtly deprogramming your whole arsonal against him. And all while measuring you nonstop, basically manipulating the fight, with his ring generalship at the helm of it all. He'll shock the living shit out of you, without any warning, whatsoever. Using your endurance and stamina against you, with tricks that open you up to his gameplan. And he just makes adjustments when need be. He was bred for this sport. That padwork is choreographed the way it is for a profound reason. Study it very carefully and then watch him use it in combat to really appreciate. It's a science. It's a gift. Simply put, phenomenal.

Tyson is THEE example of perfection in all facets of boxing. He polished every movement through endless hours of repetition. I always keep an eye out for real "secrets" within particular skills and talents, but there really aren't any, the secret is massive repetition, boxing, playing an instrument, painting etc... There's no short cuts. Tyson had to have busted his ass for years to attain that level. Remember we were just talking about his mastering a single defensive technique, most others always mention his offense. I'm so happy Mike got more spiritual nowadays.

@theGreaterAwareness6 жыл бұрын
LOL, Floyd. Is he even punching? His dad is just slapping his hands and shoulders while Floyd just raises a hand "Here dad, slap this hand. Good. Now slap this hand. My shoulder is sore, slap my shoulder". Compare that to Vasyl Lomachenko - his dad raises the pad and Vasyl does the work to hit the pad - not the dad. Seen a few of these slappers that like to make the punch sound like it's magic. Freddy Roach has a little bit of slap but Pacman does a lot of the work. I guess for show they add a little pop as you can't simulate the weight of a body with a little slap like that.

@philipdownsjr87816 жыл бұрын
It's his uncle, Roger, not his dad. Your comment reveals your lack of understanding. He's practicing timing, countering, and reflexes; especially, the counter right, which you refer to as the "slap" to the lead shoulder. Listen to Virgil Hunter's breakdown of Mayweather's mitt routine. You can find it on KZbin.
