This video just proves that the winner doesn’t always have the best answers. All these girls at Miss USA are not only beautiful and confident, but they are smart. Only Miss Michigan 1990 featured here was the winning answer, and eventually went on to win Miss USA and placed first runner up at Miss Universe that year. She’s just phenomenal!

1990 - Miss Michigan answered the questions well. 1992- Miss South Carolina answered it well too. 1997- Miss Idaho, very difficult question but she aces it.

There's a widespread belief the the winner is chosen based on her final interview. Wrong. I was a judge in beauty contests countless times, there are many other factors involved. The judges usually choose based on beauty, beauty of figure face attitude and personality. When two finalists are really neck to neck for the crown then the final interview becomes the tie breaking round
