Yes I love the APEKS RK3's I own an orange and black pair. They really move me through the water.

I love the RK3's I am on pairs 2 and 3. My original pair were used for a lot of wreck diving and accumulated oil and became quite dirty and sticky with some cracking on the edges, they were well used and heavily used. Now I have a pair of black regulars and grey HDs.

I too own a set Apeks RK3. I love them because they produce a good amount of power without too much effort, they are not too long making it easier to get up the ladder if unable to take them off and they are light thus don't sink to the bottom if you let go of them when taking them off.

Big fan of my Avanti Quattro + too, they're like 5 years old and still killing it like the first day. Awesome fins for any kind of kick you use, extremely powerful and responsive, and also fool proof to put on with their bungee strap.

Nice overview, the background music is a bit annoying though. I have just switched fins from the Volo Power to the Avanti Quattro+, will find out soon if this was a good idea for a underwater videographers purpose.

I use both the Oceanic Viper and the Tusa SF-22 Solla fins. The Sollas are stiffer than my Vipers and, because I have a bad right ankle and achilles tendon, I find myself using the Vipers more often, as they are more flexible and put less strain on my ankles. Neither, though, are as stiff as my 80s vintage Mares Power Plana fins, which feel like ironing boards on my feet these days. :) So I would give the edge to my Sollas for performance and the edge to my Vipers for comfort.

I refuse to consider any fin that lacks massive amounts of bright colour on both sides, or that have structural weaknesses like hinges. Apply price ranking to what few options are left, and the Mares Avanti Quattro+ stands out ticking all the boxes. Comfortable, powerful, visible, and a bit freakish in how much it flexes into a massive scoop when kicking hard. I've lost count of the times when I could only see my buddy/leader in the murk ahead of me only thanks to their yellow fins catching my torch beam. I want to afford my buddies that same bit of extra prevention against separation.

Just got a question. so i’m gonna buy the Apeks but what hardness should i go for?, i use a dry suits when diving in my home climates and in a 3mm suit when i’m in tropical waters, so what’s the best option?

usually wear whatever the dive shop provides but have a pair of avanti quatros in my dive bag. I would have like the comparison between frog kick and crawl kick in the fins I assume the orange ones would be best or frogkicks?

I bought my first pair last year. My instructor only had 4 choices, I bought the mares Volo Power, very happy with them. in the 12 dives i went on, every student that did not get the volo power or x-stream, complained about the fins. and I saw old divers with fins from the stone age LMAO. i loved the volo power. and why does scubapro charge 220 dollars for their fins? if it costs a leg, I cant use the damn fin now can I ? lol Thanks for the video.

So essentially three Avanti Quattro rip offs, a Jet fin rip off, and the Seawing Nova. In 2019 you still can't beat the Diverite XT and Scubapro Jet fin... and both those designs are more than 30 years old.

@@kshatriya1414 good to know. what is your opinion on jetfin vs seawing nova
@kshatriya14145 жыл бұрын
Coke Zero from what i’ve heard the seawing nova is one of those fins that once you start using them you never look back. some people feel that their buoyancy very positive and that you need to use leg weights to be able to be neutral, but in the end it’s a solid fin that is very fast and reliable. The Jetfin is a solid old design with many copies, it’s used in the military and for commercial diving and many divers say that it’s the best fin to exist, it’s a bit heavy so the buoyancy is a bit negative but that makes it better for dry suits and if you don’t like the feeling of your legs floating up, it’s very sturdy and can take a beating which is always a good thing. If i needed to pick one i would go for the Jetfin, it’s a design from the 1960 and is still one if the most popular fins today and that just give it a ton of credibility, it’s a bit heavy and that’s good when i start diving in my own country which requires a dry suit and my feet are kinda floaty so a heavier fin is good, it’s also very sturdy and strong which is something i look for in a fin. Hope that answers your question, sorry if there are any typos in the comment :)

@@kshatriya1414 Thanks a million mate. I really appreciate your detailed input. I too use Jetfin but I found out that it is a little heavy for travel so I am looking for lighter ones.

My comments. Who's ever in charge of producing these reviews please note. The speaker is not to pro. at reviewing a product. Some background music are annoying during the reviews. This fin review was only of 5 fins....which leave pleanty out which are just as good. Once the speaker said the hole at the tip, on the seawing was for hanging purpose he lost all credibility. He didn't say that about the next one that has a hole too. Makes me wonder he's not to verse on he's information. Where did he get he's info. His personal way of hanging them. I've tried keeing up with ur post but this one did it. I will return when he's replaced and more accurate info is given. Thanks.
