Secure and easy knot. I used it once on a 60 pound line, it got stuck on a rock, I pulled and the hook bent straight but the knot never slipped.

This is the knot I use with braid and fluorocarbon, I have had broken hooks come back. Great knot haven't had one slip on me since I started using it..

Has anyone done a weight test with this? Very interesting, I'm just wondering how it will fair with 50lb test mono with fish anywhere from 10-60lbs

You actually deviated from the Palomar and I wonder if your version wouldn't be less likely to slip. Normally when you send the doubled line through the Overhand loop you continue on forward and over the hook, but here we see you turn the line back in the opposite direction and then go over the hook from the opposite side. That little extra half twist might be important.

Awesome video! What are your thoughts on the cinch and snell knots? I'm trying to teach my 11 year old the easiest yet most effective way. Personally I think kids don't have the finger dexterity to tie the snell, as even I have trouble with it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I always melt the end of the line and blob it with the end of the lighter to make sure it does not slip through.

It may be possible to not untie but with my way you definitely know that your knot is not going to slip

Slip and uuntie. Same thing. THe line will break before the knot does, and heat should never be applied to fishing line!

Looks great for knot strength... But looks like a bad knot if you want good abrasion resistance... too much line round the eye of the hook where it can get rubbed?...
