We threw the used coffee grounds on the ground, covered it with a dark tarp, and came back the next day and gathered the worms.

Instead of using 1/4" steel as a probe and threading itanually, can't you use 1/4" all- thread instead?

Made one in the 70s a lot faster, lol . The steal rods then cut off old cord to lamp attached with black tape slipped on wood handles. Lasted for years . Don't try at home😅

i used to put a 55 gallon barrel in my truck bed.. fiil it up it with a water hose and ad some dawn dish soap. not much either and then id go to the local school yard where night crawlers was known to be, backed up ,drop the tail gate down, push that barrel over and with in minutes later i had a 5 gallon bucket full of big night crawlers.. lol thats how i got them started in my own back yard back then.. you dont need to use electricity to get worms out of the ground. you can also drive a tobacco stick in the ground a few feet.and scrape a old brick across the stick.. it creates vibrations and the worms think its thunder, and will work their way up and out of the ground.. an old timer taught me that back in the 70's when i was just a kid myself..and it does work......

Without a doubt one of the most concise and easy to follow videos I've seen! You could skip the thread cutting step by buying 1/4 inch thread stock and using two nuts on the end.

Hello, In America only the weak 110V is used in the power grid. Is it possible that it also works on the EU's normal 230V, or do you think it's too dangerous?

I drive a wooden stake in the ground about 6 inches and rub a brick across the top that makes worms thi an earthquake and they come to the top in about 5 minutes.

I did this when I was 10 years old over 50 years ago, but it was really simple. I had a couple quarter inch or 5/16 steel rods. I had a piece of lamp cord with the plug on the end. I taped the cord to the top end of the two post one positive one negative. Only had two didn’t cost really anything to make and it still worked.

We used to drive an iron rod in the ground, rub a hardwood board on top, and "sound" the worms out of the ground...the vibration would bring the crawlers out in haste!

I remember sitting on a porch swing at my great uncle small backyard in the 1950's as he used his homemade electric worm getter after using a hose to wet the lawn. It was made from two pieces of 1/2" reinforcing rod and the bare ends of an extension cord taped to the rod. The top part that he held had wooden handles over the shorter rod that was welded to the longer piece that went into the ground. I'm pretty sure it wasn't OSHA approved but it sure did bring the worms up to the surface.

We made worm probes when we were kids. I like this guys idea with the pvc though. Cant tell ya how many times I had been shocked cuz there were no insulators on the tops of our probes. And just fyi....getting shocked by one of these...hurts like hell. lol But they work really good. ;) Oh, and keep your knees off the ground when you grab a worm.
