I am in process of buying a faster lens for shooting night sky views, and trying to decide between the Samyang XP 50mm f1.2 and 35mm f1.2. I have a Canon 6D (Full frame), and a T6i (APS-C). After watching this video, my gut feeling is that the 35mm will be a better choice for me; On the 6D body, it has 64.5° FOV, and on the T6i body, 44.4° FOV , just slightly narrower than the 46.6° FOV of the 50mm on the 6D body. So I get a relatively wide FOV on a full-frame body, but medium telephoto on an APS-C body. And if I need to zoom in even tighter, I have a very sharp Rokinon 85mm f1.4 that has a 17.7° FOV on my 60D or T6i cameras.

The 35 mm will give you more options, in my opinion. They're both terrific lenses.

Not once in video did you even mention you are using a full frame and your field of view measurements only apply to your full frame.

Well not entirely true. In the FOV table 3:29 it says Full-Frame sensor. He did not say it, but...
