I went to the market with friends before Covid and I agree it’s a great place to go. Florence can be expensive in its restaurants and the food court offers value for money and good quality.

I have been coming to Tuscany for over 30 years. For 15 years I had an apartment on a wine estate located on the Chianti Classico Trail. Grilled meats are definitely a basic Tuscan form of cooking. The highest level is the.biztecca which is a kilo of meat minimum cooked very rare over a wood fire. I love it but you have to enjoy rare meat. There are restaurants in the area that will not serve this dish unless it is cooked in this manner. they definitely have sauces on the pasta and the one you had with wild boar is quite typical. They have a tomato duck sauce that is outstanding as well. if you get to Sina, I would strongly suggest going to la bagoga di Santa Catarina. It’s my favorite place there. They have wonderful of Tuscan. Cuisine.

The best wine is from Piedmont. The vineyards of the Langhe are Unesco World Heritage site. Next trip?

Yes true, the best wine in Italy is in Piedmont, even if I think it is still a very subjective judgement. I love Trentino wines 🙂
