About SPF : it protects you from burning and slows down the “tanning” process. You still get darker but it takes you being out in the sun a whole heck of a lot longer than it would if you had no spf and also protects you from the bad rays that cause skin cancer. As long as you use SPF correctly and reapply every 2 hours. Texas resident here**

I bought this foundation around the time when you posted this…. I absolutely LOVE it! I was afraid to wear it for a little while because of FLORIDA heat and humidity! For those that, don’t know, Florida has a wet humidity… Texas is a dry humidity! Both areas WILL bake you from May until late October! This foundation holds up!!!! P.S. I have dry skin and in my 40’s.

Thank you for your comment because I just bought it. I’m 49 and live in Mississippi where it is also extremely hot most of the year. I was so worried because I have combo skin leaning very dry due to tretinoin. Soooooo, yeah… I feel better now. I was nervous to wear to work tomorrow but now I think I’ll give it a go.

When you mentioned being on your period it brought back a memory for me. I was always very irregular and never knew when I was going to start. When I started dating my husband, he was able to tell me exactly when I was going to start. Apparently I acted uncharacteristically for me. I was a very serious type of person and the night before, I'd act goofy. Sure do miss him (will be two years tomorrow that he passed). Thanks for the memory. And I agree, Texas is a killer. We lived 2.5 years in Corpus Christi while hubby was in the Navy. Phew hot is not even a joke there. Loved your makeup.

@@humamumtaz2719 The long name is Mac Studio Fix Every-Wear All-Over Face Pen (so many words 😂) and yes I really like it. I only saw 3 reviews on it, 2 were women my age, and I decided to try it. I absolutely love it. You can use it as concealer, but I haven’t done that. I did get a darker one for bronzer though and I love that too.

I’m with you Tati on that heat! I’ve lived in the Texas panhandle all 34 years of my life and I still can’t handle it! We have a dry heat that feels like your skin is on fire 😅 I would still take it over that moist heat down there! Feels like your swimming in a hot tub 🥵

Mine too and I think they discontinued it 😩😩😢 I only see a select few colors in stock and my color hasn’t been in stock for so long and I can’t find it anywhere! So sad about it. This new foundation is nice but in my opinion it’s not as good as the 24 hour hydra foundation

I love Smashbox so much, I have a lot of their products...primers, eyeshadow palettes BUT the best thing I have from them is the HALO HYDRATING PERFECING POWDER, I love that stuff, I buy them two at a time to make sure I keep in stock...so good and you grind the amount you need (yeah, it's fun too). 🥰

Tati !!! I am so HAPPY you finally have reviewed a Smashbox product. I have been wearing Smashbox Studio Skin for the last 5 years. At the end of a long workday, my mom would say my skin looked airbrushed. I also have combo skin and this foundation just somehow absorbs the oil and stores it somewhere magical! It’s never left my skin dry, ever! I also use their amazing primer and concealer. The concealer is a MUST TRY, as is primer! I would love to see more Smashbox reviews

The original Smashbox foundation was my HG. Lasted all day. ZERO breakouts. Lasted under a mask. I tried this reformulated one and it's PERFECT. I don't branch out because nothing beats it. NOTHING.

I think you are the only person I have ever seen that can make makeup look flawless and so natural. Every time I see a makeup tutorial and foundation applied with a brush, I ask myself, do they not see how caked on their makeup looks? Even tho I am buying only natural makeup products, I still love to watch Tati videos ❤ :) Out of curiosity i checked the ingredients and this foundation have BHT which is endocrine disruptor. I dont know if that was the case with me, but I had fertility problems, I stopped using makeup and I was a beauty junkie with YT channel (not this account) so it was hard! But.. 2.5 years later I became a mother, and I refused to take hormonal pills so I believe that ending with all bad cosmetics and adding some mushrooms to my diet, changed me amazingly. Now I use Madara foundation skin equal. Sometimes I really want to try something from Tati list and it's hard to resist!! But I am truly loving my natural makeup products 😍

I am definitely getting this n giving it a go, it looks so beautiful on you and I'm 41 now and it's only been a year that my texture of my skin has changed a little bit more towards the mature skin and I'm still learning how to do it good again I used to be able to just slap some foundation on and do my eyes up n go n my makeup would be flawless all day but now it's such a learning curve!! Westmore body foundation corrector does all that without creasing and drying and will last 4 days unless you use oil cleaner to take it off. Gold radiance is gorgeous

As a person who is alabaster and barely tans; sunscreen makes me stay ghostlike. Tanning is browning of the skin, which is a slow bake but still damaging. Burning is like when you throw the marshmallow in the flames and it starts on fire. Both cause damage one is just faster than the other which makes the damage more extensive and painful. I do live in Canada so I only worry about it two seasons of the year.

I find that using sunscreen doesn't fully stop me getting a tan on my face... But it does bring out freckles EVERYWHERE on my face. I'll wear SPF 50 since I use retinol. And I don't burn, I get a little tan around the edges of my face and just a crap ton of freckles!

I do believe that spf stops you from getting too tan, like leaves you less dark.
