STEP now allows Savings & Spending for kids. And Cash deposit at Local Stores and Gas Stations. And Adults can lock and replace kids cards if they loose it.

My son has Capital One Money but spends his money so fast I didn't even know it had good interest! I really like the mobile alerts every time he buys something like a soda at the local quick market near his school. He also recently opened the Chase High school checking and they told us it was free until he turns 19, not 18.

I'd prefer having a fee-free bank like Capital One, they automatically make it into a 360 Checking account with permission from the teen, they have the choice to keep the MONEY Teen account and transfer funds to the Capital One 360 account. Huge downside is cash cannot be added until they have a 360 checking or they are over 18. Limits of $5000 are now allowed for those who are 18+, the MONEY account before being 18+ is a $500 limit, when you are 18 they have a limit of $5000. Check deposit limits depend on each person. For me it was $5,000.

Can you add capital one card to apple wallet?

Yes. The system automatically allows it on Apple Wallet but you need to agree to the Capital One Terms and Conditions for Apple Wallet use.

In my case, it’s as a young adult who’s interested in starting credit; Have gotten tired of prepaid gift cards to manage online shopping/sales. Work experience is unfortunately limited & it’s mostly having been a student. Though it’s thankfully being close to a parent. This is a helpful topic :)

Agreed... Wells Fargo is full of crooks, and top heavy management still hasn't been jailed for opening accounts without peoples' permission. They just violate laws, make a bunch of money and get fined 1% of their profits from the illegal business. It's disgusting.

I've been binge watching your videos. I appreciate your content as I'm stuck between Chase and Capital (I don't want to have to open a Chase checking...big con). I'm looking for an account for a 10yr old that is free, has a debit card, and I can pay her for chores she completes. The chore part feature is available with Chase, but not sure if it is with Capital One. Thoughts?

Capital One doesn't have a chores option. It's pretty basic but works well and is free. Honestly, you can't get everything if you want free. 😄 You could always just do a transfer to pay for a chore and set up your own system.

Step has a weekly allowance feature. I would always recommend step what she didn't mention is that step help build positive credit

They do take a while to process, Evolve Bank and Trust themselves are very slow depending on transfer traffic. Usually at 5-9AM or 7-8PM they have little to no traffic, transfer your funds within that period but yes, they do have check deposits.

Can you purchase a Visa Netsped gift card(s) using your checking and routing numbers from the bank ?

Purchasing and transferring funds are different. Gift cards (prepaid) from VISA is a store debit prepaid which you can add funds for a certain fee ranging from $1-$5. Transferring funds is very easy with a routing and account numbers, but adding money at the store you'd need your bank debit card or credit card to add funds.

I have a question do I have to file taxes to use cash app or can I just use it like puting or sending money without doing taxes or do I have to

Cash App can be used to just send money back and forth with people. Cash App also has tax filing but that's a separate thing. If you make an income in the US, you have to file taxes, but that's a separate issue. I hope that helps.

GoHenry is a great option if you have the money since it is $4.99 a month. Majority of these types of debit cards do not allow transfers (like Greenlight) to the debit card and require the parents bank account to transfer funds. I recommend having the fee-free banks like the MONEY account by Capital One as it automatically makes them a 360 checking account for those 18+. Save that money for them, not for the banks!
