I have this Engel fridge and it’s still going strong over 10 years now.Stays in the garage when we are not touring.Always on as recommended.Brilliant.

I really like my Light Grey cover on my Engel. Its rock solid after over a decade of use, it never gets turned off

I have an Engel 29lt metal case fridge/freezer, it turned 28 yrs old at the start of this year. No fancy electronics, just the one switch. At 26 yrs, the switch wore re thermostat i.e the wafers on the potentiometer gave intermittent contact. After many phone calls and emails I sourced a new switch for $75, installed myself now good for the next 25 years, lol. I look at cost this way, I paid $950 in 1993, + cover = $34 per year of service or $0.65 cents a week = cheap in the long run. :)

I have an 60 litre Engle and a40 litre Waeco both about 20 years old never get turned off run on 240 v most of the time unless we are camping or away, have never a problem with either of them but the Engle is definitely the colder of the two in my experience with them.

Had an earlier wacko fridge - power cable at the fridge end kept coming out while driving - sold it bought and Engel 40 - 15 years later , not a single issue Also quality of components like seals are far superior than the Waeco - the waeco was ok when it was working but I’ll only buy Engel now

i enjoyed this video. I have the later version of your engel, ie it doesn't have the 240 volt input. I also love my bfg ko2's. have a good one/ rgrds

Gday Enjoyed you video, I n have a renalt Clio hatch back 3 cylinder do you reckon I could get away with a Engle fridge freezer set up.in my boot , and would it take to much power from.my car battery or have to buy one and would it just set up beside it in boot? Cheers , its to go away some times and have it set up I like the size Englewood you showed in video, and would I require wire work any were like for a solar mate? What size you recommend plz?? Cheers

Nice video, just bought the same Engel on which I’ve had my eyes for a long time. Was very surprised to find out Engel recently dropped the 240v on these units. But even though advertised as the 2022/23 model it still came with the 240v connection. I’m extremely happy with that as I’ve gone through several transformers on our old Waeco CF25 (if I remember the model no. correct). Ours was bought in Germany - perhaps different versions for different markets? Anyways - I’m expecting this one will last us a really long time. No fancy controls, just simple on/off/temp setting potmeter.. Question though, from your experience - does the travel bag I think is what it’s called help a lot with insulation or is it more for protection of the box? €150 for the bag is a bit more then I like to spend if it doesn’t help insulation a significant amount. the bag makes it less efficient, lock your hubs has a video on that, I keep it in the bag to stop scratches to the engel and to the car from the Engel.
