Good comparison test. Would be interesting to see what the results were conducting the same test without the transit covers fitted

thanks for the video mate, I be looking at getting a 39l combi. But after watching this video i will know my battery will last for the night compare to my Kings fridge uses.

Great review and interesting results , 1 own the two same fridges and running as freezers don’t really notice any difference , with lithium these days power consumption isn’t as big an issue as it once was , thanks for this review

Would be interesting to see the new metal 40 litre vs the 38 plastic! Obviously you arent going to go out and buy that...but a good comparison video! Very interesting! :)

Mate funny you say that. Just picked up the new MTV series in the 32l to replace the plastic one. Will do a 3 way comparo before I offload the plastic one. Cheers

@@robbiereddog4202 Is there a reason you're offloading the plastic one so soon? I was considering getting one soon.
@robbiereddog42023 жыл бұрын
@@stevenlippis5488 They're are a great fridge and nothing wrong with it. The only reason I got the MTV 32l was size (little shorter in height) and front opening reather than side opening which is better suited to my setup. Also was at a price I couldn's say no. Cheers

@@robbiereddog4202 thanks for the reply! I was hoping Engels might go on sale for eofy, but doesn't look like they do too often.

Im running an Engel eclipse in my truck, its a few years old now great little fridge its dual power 240/12 however ive noticed the new ones in the shops you need power brick to run on 240v, its a shame they must be cost cutting

The Engels are a great fridge. It's always a shame when any company charges you more and gives you less.

On 12 volt i wouldnt have the cover on unless, it was out side in the sun

Wonder if you re did the test and swapped the ammeters around and see if there was a difference in them, seems a big difference with essentially the same compressor hey.
@robbiereddog42023 жыл бұрын
Yeh dont know whether its got anything to do with the electronic and maybe insulation. New eclipse dont have a 240v inlet and only 12v.

Hey mate would you recommend the Engel MTV 32L or the Dometic CFX3 35L? I am really unsure as to which is the one to choose between the two
@robbiereddog42022 жыл бұрын
I've had a good run out of the engel and the Waeco/dometic so it comes down more to personal preference. My oldest engel is about 13 years old and as good as the first day I bought it. Also prefer the metal case of the engels so tips the scale in favour of the engel for me. Cheers

@@robbiereddog4202 thanks mate. I went for the dometic. From my findings it runs quieter, and even though it has a higher max rated Amps when cycling, it consumes significantly less energy per hour compared to the Engel, which means it cycles less often and holds its temperature better. I would say it is because the 5mm insulation compared to the 4mm. Those were both positives as i am looking to sleep inside the car with the fridge. Time will only tell how it goes :)

Bags are a furphy is that correct.
@robbiereddog42023 жыл бұрын
Mate cant really say. Definately more for protection than insulation. The olny thing Ive found with the covers on the metal ones is if you use them as a freezer they tend to build up condenstaion between the cabinet and the cover which could be an issue with the fridge and cause rusting.
@danlatimer4063 жыл бұрын
I thought the max amps the 38 used was 2.75 ?
@robbiereddog42023 жыл бұрын
Thats the max amperage they'll use every hour. When compressor first kicks in at the start of a cycle I've seen 3.3 to 3.5 on an engel and up to 6 on a dometic/waeco. Cheers
