Friendship is fickle as kids because its so easy to make friends as kids and its usually circumstantial. My best friend in middle school I met on the first day in school just because we was standing in line next to each other and got to talking. We naturally changed a lot since then and don't talk anymore. Real genuine friendship is people you have deep things in common with and you build a true sense of respect for each other, but its earned over time and through experiences.

I've had a best friend since kindergarten and all through elementary school we were really close, but in 6th grade she started to drift away from me, and started talking to me less everyday, until the first day of 7th grade, she only said a few words to me. She only used me to dump drama and to just talk about her problems, not actually enjoy herself. I just want her as my actual friend back, I cry every day when I come back from school because all the popular kids get to be her friends despite how much they've done to her and her other friends. I don't even know if she considers me her friend anymore, so I've started to have social anxiety and depression. I can't seem to tell anyone because I don't want her to get mad at me and leave me forever. I just want to have long silly talks again like we used to.
