Sonnet was the KEY in the Olympics. Her quiet introspection was also wonderful to hear. These three are treasures.

Sam, you coached a gold medal interview out of those 2 wingnuts. That may be a bigger accomplishment than the Olympic gold. My only disappointment was Rose snubbing us without a proper Wilma update. Btw. Sam, I know you heart wants to be on the pitch with the girls, and we’d all love to see it, but honestly, I think you are as good a host/podcaster as you were a pro athlete. I love getting to know you more and I’m always impressed with your creativity, your quick wit, your respect for your guest, and your ability to riff but also stay on track. I would love to know if this came naturally to you, if you are borrowing and repackaging info from your player days, if you went to podcaster night school, or what.

I feel like all 3 of you guys should just rewatch the entire finals match and do commentary and answer questions and react to plays and describe if their heart dropped when Ludmila got around Girma ....did they feel a little nervous when Marta got on....what was the rallying message from Emma at halftime...so should Mal continue to do the free kick set piece or should someone else try 😅

I feel like the players that would be super descriptive and forthcoming of their thoughts and opinions and feelings for every part of the finals match would be....Crystal. I would love to get the assistant coach Denise's perspective on the progression of the final few games, players that had the most growth in the tournament, which parts she felt was shaky, maybe the lineup if it really did go to penalties, if Uncle have been nailing her bicycle kicks for any 120th minute match still tied final usa corner kick miracle hero moment 😂

@leehampton92874 ай бұрын
I love Rose. She is my absolute favorite USWNT player. She is a magician with the ball on her foot and can spearhead the offensive attack going forward. But can someone please coach her to eliminate the word "like" from her vocabulary during interviews? I realize that she's still relatively young, but it makes her sound like a teenager. I'm certain that the team has a media advisor. Can that person please work with her on her interview vocabulary?

Sam Mewis should study Julie Foudy, and learn the art of conducting interviews like a friend and former teamate, not like a streight up "Journalist" that's why footi fans like former players doing interviews not "Journalist" who never played. Tip never start with "this is my job lol"
@k.okeefe31254 ай бұрын
Neither seems particularly excited about winning the gold. Or feeling particularly accomplished. As if they had a job to do, they did it, and now its done so move on. I think it has to do with this idea of it being a beginning vs. an ending. And my comment isn't a criticism at all. Just interesting.
