I think that Nikita is simply a really emotional person, who loves to talk to people and listen to them. Just from the way he made that artpiece and the way he told us the story behind it, thats just artistic. Knowing hes from russia, i guess he grew up in a family where he was forced to be more a masculine man than he wanted or felt comfortable being. And so while growing up, he tried as much to let himself be who he is, and now hes a big guy who thinks about emotions and human nature pretty well and to my ear, he sounds like a philosopher.

these replies aint it… he talked openly about his body dysmorphia? you can be physically attractive to other people and still feel shit about yourself every now and again. without anything better to compare it to, so excuse the dark topic, but when you have an eating disorder (speaking from experience, before i get jabbed) you will never look at yourself and think you’re getting skinnier. you could reach your original “goal” and still look at yourself in the mirror going it needs to be more. the thing about body dysmorphia is that it doesn’t care about what you look like. all it cares about is bringing you down. everyone has bad days, good days, in between days… i think your comment was wonderfully put. very good insight :)

What I liked when he approached masculinity, was that he approached it not in a hostile way. Like he didn't have hostile emotion towards masculinity, there was no negative basis of it, at least that what it sounded like. It was more like he was insinuating that masculinity is just one of many parts of you, masculinity is relevant but there are other things too. I think when we question femininity or masculinity, it so often or easily turns into hatred against said terms. His approach of viewing it a lot more grey, in such a gentle way, was really nice.

I appreciate that Jesse is honest with his friend and himself about his body image. What appears to be vanity shows a lot of insecurity and it's not an easy thing to admit. I went through the same process younger. I just turned 40 years old and I'm at a place where I don't really care what people think of me when they see me. If you can get that mindset earlier in life, make it so, it's liberating.

I am still pretty young in life compared to some of the people I’ve seen here however I’m also developing this trait of not caring about what people think of me. You’re very right, it is liberating to not be bound by the shackles of people’s standards. There are times where I kind of go back and care, but in the times I don’t, I just feel really happy

Bit problematic to see masculinity as something without intelligence and calmness, because it makes people like Nikita insecure about their masculinity if they have those qualities which makes the young boys who strive to be 'masculine' stay away from those traits (kindness, generosity, empathy) because they are seen as feminine. they dont wanna seem that way either because of misogyny or because they feel you are attacking masculinity as a whole/misrepresenting them.

Nikita is European--he sounds Eastern European. In European cultures, nudity is not shamed as much. I feel that's where Nikita's confidence comes from--having grown up in a family where nudity was probably just normal and ho-hum. Jesse is American and he's got that American prudishness with nudity. Furthermore, to get a very muscular body like that with such a low body fat percentage, that requires a lot of hard work. Jesse's clear hard work is fueled by strong insecurity with his body.

@@pdruiz2005 Nikita is Russian - so technically he is either Eastern European or Asian (depending on what part of Russia he is from). "Nikita" is distinctly Russian name. Nikita alluded to his being Russian early on in the video. When Jesse stated, "I didn't know he (Nikita) was uncircumcised," Nikita answered, "Most people in Russians aren't." Jesse then provided final confirmation by beginning his next question for Nikita with, "Being Russian..." I think one can easily develop an obsession with body aesthetics from the enormous amount of time and work necessarily spent on achieving a perfect body like Jesse. When this obsession zooms in on defining the "perfect" body, the details begin to multiply and move toward the extreme. The idea of the "perfect" body becomes an unachievable goal involving too many details, requiring disproportionate sacrifices for results that only the truly obsessed even notice. Eventually all one notices are the flaws which are preventing the unachievable perfection. Thus, despite impressively achieving a sexy as hell, awesome body; they are ironically uncomfortable in their birthday suit, looking damn good.

It's amazingly eye opening and refreshing. My best friend and I were *just* about this open with each other(we wouldn't have been able to do nude paintings of each other lol). He would talk to me about anything and everything. I've been overweight my entire life and have absolutely horrible self image. I would talk to him about it, but he would let me know it's such a minor thing in being a person. It didn't define who I was to him, and having that friendship really helped me out as I struggled mentally, and still do.

“I’m very optimistic about it remaining beautiful as it changes” THATS BEAUTIFUL! I think everyone should hear that, esp pregnant people who are worried about their bodies changing & looking “ugly” and what not. I personally have never disliked my stretchmarks, I think they’re beautiful. I just noticed new ones on my hips and idk, it just looks pretty, like beautiful lightening strikes.

to me they are not beautiful but they are not ugly. to me they tell a history of what a person's body went through; either weight gain, or weight loss. cellulite as well isnt ugly and yet so many people, mainly women, worry so much about it, spending thousands of dollars at specialist's treatments.

I love this. Once you are completely nude you are so vulnerable, and if you take your chance like these guys you can make something out of this vulnerability: you can become more open and honest to yourself and others.

It would be refreshing if women were into men like Nikita but unfortunately they not, and don’t say otherwise because truthfully they are not, ‘hypergamy’ is the psychological term for the mentality that women have and seek in men. Be responsible and realize not just any man wakes up trying to be a he-man, i think they desire to be valued by some standards women still want. Not only physically but also financially and socially. Men say they do it for themselves but they know they want a partner.

It's usually an act, I am the exact same way I always try to make myself seem so confident because I feel like that's how I should act, but once I'm put in the spotlight or I'm all alone in my room that unconfident kid from middle school comes out all over again

He does not give a fuck about his appearance and tries to stand out in the modern world with rebellious and "honest" thoughts. Trying to be vulnerable is really bad because that means you can't protect and don't strive for selfimprovement. Maybe you like him because people with similiar traits attract each other but for me he is more than unattractive. Attractive are mentally and physically strong people. Call me whatever you want but this is reality.
@frankieslittlemonster1322 жыл бұрын
@@markflakezCG You're entitled to your opinion, but that's not reality. You're allowed to be vulnerable, and being vulnerable doesn't mean you don't strive for self improvement, it means you're allowing yourself to let go and there is nothing wrong with that. You might find vulnerability unattractive, but that doesn't work for everyone. How do you know he's not strong? You can be strong and vulnerable.
@ReluctantGarbageCollector2 жыл бұрын
@@markflakezCG hmmm a very interesting take. Let me propose another view, addressing your fears is infinitely harder than avoiding them. In that regard, the conscious choice to be vulnerable shows an unparalleled mental strength. Food for thought.
@k.v.76812 жыл бұрын
@@ReluctantGarbageCollector I'd add it's also opportunity for growth. Being unshakable on principle, at least mentally, tends to lead to stagnation or collapse. People need flexibility, adaptability.
