Thank you for great inspiration. I have a large property with an awkward front door entrance. I’ve been looking for ideas on how to make the front entry area look & feel more welcoming, and have been toying with the idea of opening up our attached pergola as a welcome area as it is adjacent to our badly positioned front door. You’ve given me the courage to start planning.

At the risk of sounding critical, spacious ideas are possible when you live in a rural setting. But most live in subdivisions where HOA's can be very strict & have cookie cutter mentalities regarding artistic or aesthetic expressions! Especially, in front yards! But I definitely agree that front yards should be more useful & provide more than curb appeal to passersby! Front yards SHOULD be living/enjoyment spaces! And though your ideas are amazingly beautiful. They are out of reach of most homeowners due to complexity, cost, lack of real estate space, & need for specialized planning & intense labor skill set. I enjoy seeing your spaces, but for the reasons cited, they are a fantasy for most. 🥺

I'm in Australia. If I ever get a spare million i can afford to waste, I might implement some of these ideas. I'm on 3.5 acres of sheep paddock. It's hard compacted clay, full of holes and lumps. It's a nightmare. We only have tank water so, not enough water to waste on watering grass and gardens, especially when we just don't get enough rainfall in our area.

To be fair, the video is called BEST front yards, not BUDGET front yards. It’s supposed to serve as inspiration and ideas for different approaches to front yard design. I don’t have $80k either but the pathway idea for instance would work for me on a much much smaller scale. 🤷‍♀️
