I lived in Israel for 20 years. You buy your milk in a bag. It's delicious milk. And, yes, you put the bag in a pitcher/holder for the bag. You cut a little corner off on top of the bag. That's it ! They also sell little bags of chocolate milk that are so amazingly delicious. I would go into the market, grab a little bag of 'choco' and bite a corner off and suck the fresh delicious ice cold chocolate milk. By the time you got to check out, the little bag was empty - everyone did this. And they were very cheap. Ahhhhh, memories. Missing Israel so much.

I thought “oh no he’s making this more complicated than it needs to be why did he change anything?” Then looked at the date and was pleasantly surprised to see it was old and that you made your show simpler over the years and have got it down pretty much perfect at this point. Too many shows do the opposite, so thanks! Keep going.

Sam...you talked about a coloured pitcher, which you have seen. In Asia, such a coloured plastic pitcher was originally a “toothbrushing mug” used by the lower-income group in China, India and many Asian countries very long ago. Then, this plastic toothbrushing mug evolved into a multipurpose big mug, mostly used to scoop water and storage in and out of the kitchen. Your assistant was correct in saying about “drinks in plastic bags”. In many Asian countries, roadside stalls selling drinks often put the drinks (mostly cold) into small plastic bags, tie it partially shut with a string, and stuck a straw into it. However, it was impossible to securely rest such a plastic bag on any surface. Hence, many Asians like to put that drink-filled bag into a small plastic bowl or that “plastic pitcher” you mentioned😃

In 1973 I was sent to Thailand for 1 year and 1 day. My first 3 months were in Korat, a truely beautiful city. Then 9 months in Udorn Thani RTAFB, every week I traveled by train ot bus to Udorn Thani before I was reassigned . When the train would pull into the station the vendors would converge to sell their wares, Sodas and Iced coffee were offered in thin plastic bags because they wanted to return the bottles for deposit, and no zip locks, a twisties tie or just a knot at the top of the bag.

Tonight I used 2 flat crescent rolls I didn’t roll up into a crescent shape. They were from a can of refrigerated roll dough. I baked them according to the package directions before adding the garlic bread toppings. They were delicious. Somewhat thin, though that was a nice alternative. The toppings from this video worked out great; fresh minced garlic is really nice, though I omitted the parsley this time. I omitted the salt also. I had salted butter. H. Lloyd

Regarding bread, btw. pan cubano, which is trivial to make and toasts amazingly because of the lard in the mix. I also prefer the 4x5 method for cooking it. 450 oven butter side up for four minutes, the flip it over on the sheet butter side down, and lay another sheet on top to press it flat. Then back in the oven for five more minutes. The toasting of the bread and browning+crisping of the butter is *perfect* . Try it.
