We really just have one goal - to make your food life better. Ok that, and be entertained at the same time. And have you learn a few things along the way. So let’s make it 3 goals then.
If you only want the steps to make something, like those vids shot from above with no people, no conversation no nuthin - then we are absolutely not for you. But if you wanna a little fun while you learn, then this is the place.
Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.

THANK YOU ❗️

I thought “oh no he’s making this more complicated than it needs to be why did he change anything?” Then looked at the date and was pleasantly surprised to see it was old and that you made your show simpler over the years and have got it down pretty much perfect at this point. Too many shows do the opposite, so thanks! Keep going.

I lived in Israel for 20 years. You buy your milk in a bag. It's delicious milk. And, yes, you put the bag in a pitcher/holder for the bag. You cut a little corner off on top of the bag. That's it ! They also sell little bags of chocolate milk that are so amazingly delicious. I would go into the market, grab a little bag of 'choco' and bite a corner off and suck the fresh delicious ice cold chocolate milk. By the time you got to check out, the little bag was empty - everyone did this. And they were very cheap. Ahhhhh, memories. Missing Israel so much.

Then 9 months in Udorn Thani RTAFB, every week I traveled by train ot bus to Udorn Thani before I was reassigned . When the train would pull into the station the vendors would converge to sell their wares, Sodas and Iced coffee were offered in thin plastic bags because they wanted to return the bottles for deposit, and no zip locks, a twisties tie or just a knot at the top of the bag.

Tonight I used 2 flat crescent rolls I didn’t roll up into a crescent shape. They were from a can of refrigerated roll dough. I baked them according to the package directions before adding the garlic bread toppings. They were delicious. Somewhat thin, though that was a nice alternative. The toppings from this video worked out great; fresh minced garlic is really nice, though I omitted the parsley this time. I omitted the salt also. I had salted butter. H. Lloyd

I couldn't understand how a garlic bread video was 17 minutes long. After watching, it made sense. BTW, grind the garlic with a mortar & pestle, using unsalted butter and, about halfway through, some Kosher salt, to help it grind into a paste. Melt your butter in a double boiler, throw the garlic and some olive oil in, let it go for about 20 minutes, stirring a couple times. Put it in a container in the fridge, set a timer for about 30 min and check on it. When it starts to solidify, stir it well so the garlic solids don't all wind up at the bottom. Not only does this make amazing garlic bread, but if you use half 'popping oil' and half this stuff in a regular oil popcorn maker, it makes killer popcorn. You can fry or scramble eggs in it, use it as a basis for a compound butter, and it keeps in the fridge for quite a while. I typically use about 25 grams of peeled garlic and 2 sticks of unsalted butter; maybe a quarter cup of light olive oil? I will be using your additions the next time I make garlic bread.

Sam...you talked about a coloured pitcher, which you have seen. In Asia, such a coloured plastic pitcher was originally a “toothbrushing mug” used by the lower-income group in China, India and many Asian countries very long ago. Then, this plastic toothbrushing mug evolved into a multipurpose big mug, mostly used to scoop water and storage in and out of the kitchen. Your assistant was correct in saying about “drinks in plastic bags”. In many Asian countries, roadside stalls selling drinks often put the drinks (mostly cold) into small plastic bags, tie it partially shut with a string, and stuck a straw into it. However, it was impossible to securely rest such a plastic bag on any surface. Hence, many Asians like to put that drink-filled bag into a small plastic bowl or that “plastic pitcher” you mentioned😃

Before this video was made, Switzerland sold milk in plastic bags (uses less plastic than other packaging materials) and for just a little more than the price of 1L of milk, you can buy a pitcher which holds your bag of milk. The firdges will hold 3 bags at the bottom of the door. To use, you cut off the front and back corners at the top and thats it.

Regarding bread, btw. pan cubano, which is trivial to make and toasts amazingly because of the lard in the mix. I also prefer the 4x5 method for cooking it. 450 oven butter side up for four minutes, the flip it over on the sheet butter side down, and lay another sheet on top to press it flat. Then back in the oven for five more minutes. The toasting of the bread and browning+crisping of the butter is *perfect* . Try it.

PLEASE Read THIS!!! I recently separated from her husband… He always make the garlic bread. I made it for our family Christmas party 17 people. I followed your recipe exactly except for olive oil I forgot. Everyone is seriously raving! Raving about it!!! My sister’s whole family lives in San Diego and we are definitely coming to your restaurant very soon. Folks! You must make the garlic bread exactly as he tells you!

Thanks. The garlic press in the link doesn’t look like the same one in this video. It looks like a TableCraft but in this list in the link, it lists ZYLISS Susi 3

Yes. U can buy milk in bags which u place in a milk jug which u cut/slice a spout to pour it out, but some dairies went rogue and started selling in plastic jugs so now most places sell in jugs or cartons. I still see bags in eastern Canada but not so much in the west.

You are right Sam! Canada sells bags of milk but they have pitchers to put it in to serve. Found that out when I visited family there.

Solid Garlic Bread. My hippie uncle always says "we're doing the right thing here" whenever we would be cooking a homemade dinner when I was a houseguest. A saying I have adopted as well when cooking something you know is gonna make everyone happy.
