Heard rumors that one of the major companies is working on a small GPS position transmitter that fits onto the top of existing flagsticks. They also work on a universal software interface so that the position signal can be picked up by GPS watches, smartphone golf apps and GPS screens on electric trolleys to show the exact pin position on the green. That would be a fantastic feature!

That would be a really cool feature. You would think they would have set up some sort of universal feature like this already by now!

San Antonio is my favorite city. You gave a great presentation and I'll likely buy the watch. The many features takes practice to use efficiently, to not piss off players behind you.

Was the first and last time using the Sony ZV1 camera. I roll with just my Iphone 13 now on the course and stabilaztion is much better. Crazy from a phone but better than lugging my Sony A7SIII all over the place.

Didn't see anything about distances to hazards, does it do that?
@GarageGolf

There is a whole screen dedicated to that but you can also click on the map with your finger and it will tell you distance to any point on the screen.

Great video! I almost purchased one but decided on Arccos Golf. Have you had a chance to try Arccos? With the new caddie link no more phone in the pocket. Would love to see your thoughts on that. Again, great content as always.

Thanks for watching Ray! I have the Arccos sensors on my Cobra King F9 One Length Clubs. Have you enjoyed using that system? I'll have to look into it for potential testing.

Garage Golf I love it. My game has improved since I started using it. And with strokes gained added now it’s the best out there IMO.

@@raym9364 Very cool. I might have to check it out. I just saw on another review that the Garmin S62 has a similar feature as well. Technology is very cool and making golf easier to track which is great for all of us!

What you call ‘a pretty cool feature’ (ability to press a button so it will register how far you hit your next ball) is a very very poor execution of a for me very important feature of a golf GPS watch! Both Tomtom and Garmin GPS watches have a much better execution of this feature. They AUTOMATICALLY register every shot you make and automatically count the distance of every stroke you make. This is nice so the watch automatically keeps track of the amount of strokes you take but more importantly: if you hit your ball in the rough it is very helpful to know the distance and you get a very good feel for how far you ball flight is and where you have to search for your ball. Having to press a button really doesn’t work as you forget or don’t want to fiddle with you GPS watch all the time. I would ONLY get a GPS watch that has this function and executes this function flawlessly. I myself have a TOMTOM GPS golf watch which was the first with such a function (TOMTOM discontinued their golfwatches) and does it flawlessly. I heard the new Garmin Golf GPS watch also does a good job. My first garmin had a button I had to push to register the distance of my shot. Just like this watch, this is useless and I bought the Tomtom instead

That's a good point. I am aware of that feature on the new Garmin S62 and am curious to test it out to see how it works and is able to differentiate between a practice setting and a real swing.

Garage Golf on the Tomtom watch it works really simple: only 1 stroke in an area of a few square meters. So it records your practice swing and not the follow up swings. If you make an airshots or hit the ball 1 meter in high rough you just cover your hand over the watch to register an extra shot. Sometimes you knock your hand against your waist or make a difference movement triggering a registration of a shot. You will feel the haptic feedback (buzzing of your watch) and can remove the shot by pressing the back button within 10 seconds. Putts usually don't get registered on the tomtom automatically (I putt too sensitive) but you can cover the watch to register the shot or add the Putts after finishing the hole

Both the Garmin Approach S42 and S62 can track the shots -- either with a prompt manually after you hit, or with the CT10 grip tackers automatically (S12 too with the grip trackers). This is very important to me too. It was disappointing to see the course map in the dashboard when you analyzed the round, only not to see any shots tracked! I wonder if the SkyGolf GT2 GameTracker can do this with the SkyCaddie watch? Both together are still better I think than the S42's interface, and better priced than the S62. But I've not used them as yet, still researching for a post-Christmas buy.

I have the Garman S 60 and I don’t like it I can barely get one round of four hours and it doesn’t automatically go from hole to hole it’s Skips a hole sometimes, Send it back to have it repaired and all the updates done and it still does the same thing will not buy another Garman S 60 or 62 piece of junk, To add to the comment I paid nearly 400 bucks

@@Sluggo01 Very true. There are even some quirks with this watch. The screen automatically shuts off after 30 seconds which is not a big deal but I would love for it to be able to stay on. Battery life on the other hand is really good as a result and the watch can be woken up again quite easily.
