Ray Charles is my fav guest star out of all because not only he's a wonderful recurring character, every scene he's in especially with Yetta is a delight and he always seemed to have a great time during filming. I will always remember his rendition of My Yiddishe Momma on the show.

I think the guest spots on the shows like The Nanny and Will and Grace helped "fading stars" get back into the spotlight again, to maybe help them re-start a fading career. I think that is the great value of these shows for those guest stars, not the money paid.

Yes I think the publicity was the main thing for them, sone probably really loved the show too and it was more an honor to guest star. Not sure everyone got that much money specially if the show was more popular than them, unless you where someone like Elizabeth Taylor.
