The genuine heart ache she was feeling for being in love and never really knowing when or if it could be reciprocated. I love the way they played out Fran and Max's relationship. We were all ready to burst by THE time in season 5. They didn't waste time getting them hitched which was smart seeing s they'd had YEARS of subconscious courting and then we got just a little time after to enjoy seeing them finally married and happy. They ended the show at the right time as far as I'm concerned. They had a couple of backslides which is more than I can say for Tony and Angela! Now THAT slow burn with no real ending drives me mad to this day! 😂
