Great video as always. Can you make a video on defense stance, slides, when to force left or right, when to turn and run, these type of stuff, i really like defenders like (Tony Allen, Marcus Smart and Andre Roberson).

This is my go to set up move, I love it so many options from this to blowing by your defender, pulling up, to crossing over.

@@CoachFrikki you could expand your video break down by doing player specific profiles. What each player does well offense and defense. Your breakdowns are so detailed bruh LMAO. I wouldn't be surprised if a NBA team hit you up like they did Coach Daniel. Keep at it bro!

Note dont confuse this move with the hang hesi. Imo the hang hesi is a one way move for defenders with one top foot The lateral glide you can actual go both ways. The lateral glide is better because you have a lesser chance of getting the ball stolen by great defenders

Probably the most versatile setup move; pretty good bet in most situations. It's basically a longer jab step off the dribble.

20 years ago, any such move was a whistle. even a hand on any side of the ball, except the top - a whistle. I remember so much pain and frustration of everyone who trying something interesting and new in the game

Nope, I'm a big hater on the midrange shot. Can't justify shooting inefficient 40% jumpshots that only give you 2 points.

Not a fan of the midrange shot. I'm all threes and layups. Last team I coached didn't shoot a single midrange shot for 3 straight years.

Coach I also use it to cross someone by instead of going to basket I crossover backwards and sideways so since they are already trying to cover my lane they leave their left or right foot open to crossover

Not really trying to worry. Some guys off the dribble like to use a lot of steps. Just got to let them know on defense you make the same amount of steps per his foot work. Other than that everything is ready.

I only do this move to shoot now. Id rather change directions with a between the legs or crossover. Every time I drive off this move I get pushed baseline. Either that or I'm forced to go one way.

I need help with something . I’m fine when defenders are flat footed or fully forcing me one direction . But when their legs and body are kinda in one direction and they’re slightly forcing me to go one way. It’s like a middle ground between flat footed and forcing me one way . I was considering a skip hesi set up but im not sure so could you help out

It's usually a small glide but not sideways if it's a normal hesi.

Every hooper has different moves and attacks in different ways. Develop your own playstyle around your strengths. Watch a lot of basketball for new ideas, try them out and find out what works best.

You can cross back, do a shot fake hesi or combo out of it if he stays with you. But if he shifts easily with you then you probably shouldn't have did the lateral glide in the 1st place. Glide really fast and pick the right moment for it, when the defender is on his heels like on 0:55. Not a fan of gliding just to read him and then make a decision. KD makes it work mostly because he has a 7'5 wingspan and shoots almost 40% from three.

I put it in B tier. One of my least favourite moves. I prefer attacking tight and going right through the defender. But that's just my opinion, many players are very effective with gliding laterally.

IMO this is the ONLY move you’ll ever need, as long as you keep a good distance from your defender, anything more complex than that, you are really looking to make the highlight reels, not efficient nor sustainable.

No one saying why this move is so effective is funny. It literally leaves the defender at a disadvantage...ball hangs...2 steps laterally while ball hangs then explode. Almost a travel but not.
