Its similar to how our ancestors would do it in the rest of the world before they advanced further but in Australia the Aboriginal people stagnated in terms of advancing their people. Really enjoying these readings. A love reading the different aspects of what authors think make humans standout or differ from our unknown universe. Some go with a biological view of endurance or strength, others technology, but I prefer the ones who value wit and cunning, like this story. It’s an approach that allows for a deeper analysis of what interactions with xenos could look like and how an alien culture could be inferior or superior to our own. A species that has no concept of lying, one with no emotion, a hive mind, one that views concepts as tangibles; the paths you can take are limitless. It’s a really fun dive to take.

I've sometimes been asked "if you could travel back in time to change the course of a pivotal battle in history such as waterloo what military tech would you bring if you could only bring one thing?" You might think an AK47 or other assault rifle, even something simple we take for granted like self contained ammunition or so.ething super advanced like a predator drone or tank. My answer was and always will be "a pair of radios".
@donanthebarbarian51773 жыл бұрын
I'll pass on the radios and go for a police helicopter. Just fly around observing the enemy and using the speaker to pass orders as needed. I'd much rather have an imperfect communications system in favor of a bird's eye view of the battlefield.
@spencerquimby47263 жыл бұрын
@@donanthebarbarian5177 Helicopters are thirsty though, where does the fuel come from? Also, if you are loudly broadcasting orders over a PA, all your troops *might* hear it over your rotors and the din of battle, but the enemy is just as likely to hear you too.
@spencerquimby47263 жыл бұрын
@@donanthebarbarian5177 The Bell 407gx (a common helicopter used by state police) has a range of about 600km (370 miles) but that range will be drastically reduced when hovering over a battle, you'd probably o ly have a few hours of endurance before needing fuel.
@donanthebarbarian51773 жыл бұрын
@@spencerquimby4726 fair point but I mean given a few hours with a bird's eye view of the battle and the ability to pass orders to the ground it seems like it would be basically your victory for the day so even if you only got 1 tank of fuel per day you'd probably win overwhelmingly in the long run.
@spencerquimby47263 жыл бұрын
@@donanthebarbarian5177 One tank of fuel a day? From where though? A radio and some guy on a horse accomplishes the same thing and you could build a simple hand cranked generator to keep them charged.
