I've heard this story before. At first I was confused, since the Irish flag is green, white and orange. However, upon further study, I did find a flag from Ireland, that does sort of fit the description. It's the Irish Naval Jack. A green flag, with a golden harp in the center. That being said, there are two more versions of it, that at one point where the official flag of Ireland in the 18th and 19th centuries. I wonder why the author used this flag instead of Irelands official flag?

It’s stupid how many people mix up jacks with flags to the point where they think Jack is part of the name, never have that issue with Germany’s warjack… at least it was deliberate on this occasion instead of just being another mix up. :p

Thsi story was written in a way that makes it hard to follow what exactly is going on. Could use some work
