I wonder when will more manufacturers make grind-by-weight grinders. Not sure if it is only me but the workflow of not having to weigh and adjust and weigh again is one feature I value tremendously. Except on Eureka and Baratza currently have that for the home user (Im not including the Mahlkonig E65 GBW)

I have a Eureka Mignon Zero and in my opinion the pumps after grinding to push out remaining ground isn't a suggestion but a requirement. Even before my first month of use I have had to open and do a full cleaning because the shoot got fully clogged because i had never done the pump action and machine had stopped grinding and I didn't know why. Now I do the pumping of the lid religiously. I do quite enjoy it over all and it does great job. But I do have some wishlist in features i would like to see and I would likely be looking at another grinder next year or after.

Hey there. Would you buy this again if you had the option to buy something different? Also does it clog often with softer beans?
@bigglyguy84298 ай бұрын
My Specialita finally got a clogged chute after about 3 or 4 years of never, ever, cleaning it. I did however add a 3D printed bellow thing from Etsy years ago and always use it. That Mignon are now offering grinders with that feature from the factory is very nice. Now I'm torn between the 'weighs for you' or saving money with the 'No display' model. Why am I interested in a new one? Cos I forgot the anti-clump thing and jammed a chopstick up the chute to clear it, which worked.... but now it's rather clumpy, so I guess I mangled that bit? I'm scared to take the chute off to look lol, but it has made me look at new ones, and I'm seeing Mignon as still the best all-round choice. I wonder if that anti-clump thing is available as a spare part?

Hi, how do you rank ECM S64 compared with your list?
@seanmurphy110911 ай бұрын
I had the same question.. If one was to get the ECM AMG pair.. how does the S64 compare to these?
@Wholelattelovepage11 ай бұрын
Hi there. The ECM S-Automatik 64 would fit into this list right above the Ceado E5Pro. Operationally, it would work very similarly to the Ceado E6P, which is essentially an E5Pro with timed dosing options with the ECM having two timed dosing options as well as a manual dosing function. As indicated by the name of the ECM S-Automatik 64, it (like the E5Pro) has 64mm burrs and has a slightly more powerful motor spinning them than the Ceado, so grinding times are moderately faster on the ECM. Also, as can be expected from a company like ECM, the build quality of the S-Automatik 64 is impeccable, and if you opt for the AMG version, you also get a glass bean hopper which is a nice addition. --BRYAN

I just purchased the KitchenAid grinder and I was wondering if there is a way to turn it off when not in use?
@Wholelattelovepage Жыл бұрын
Hi there. Valid question. As there is not a physical power switch, there is no way to power it off manually. It will go to sleep after a little while of inactivity. Otherwise, if it isn't terrifically inconvenient, you can just unplug it when not in use. That is what I do with my grinder at home! --BRYAN

@@Wholelattelovepage another question…I am not getting consistent shots with the KitchenAid grinder. I will dial it in and the shot has a natural sweetness to it and then the next day it will be extremely bitter. I keep my coffee beans in the freezer could that be my issue? Or is it just the result of a $180 grinder?

Hello. Great video! Based on your videos, I became interested in the Ceado E37S coffee grinder. Previously, I dreamed of switching only to Mahlkonig EK43ST. Now there is a choice, I want to replace my Lelit PL 72 coffee grinder. The choice fell on three coffee grinders Ceado E37S, Ceado E37SD, Mahlkonig EK43ST. Also, I am considering the option to buy Ceado E37S and add Titanium Burrs + Ceado SINGLE DOSE BELLOWS + Ceado Removable chute cover to it. Can you give me any advice? I would like to use the coffee grinder, of course, in automatic mode on time and whenever I want as a single dose. I make coffee with a Lelit Bianca coffee maker.
@Wholelattelovepage11 ай бұрын
Hi there. If you plan on grinding using timed dosing, then of your options listed, the Ceado E37S is the best option for you, as both the E37SD and the EK43 do not have timed dosing. However, if you are interesting in single dosing, then upgrading to the E37SD is a far better option than buying an E37S and modifying it with new burrs and the bellows.

Hello. Thank you for your very informative video. The question that has been bothering me is, do I need to change the burr of my grinder to the ssp model? How much is this difference? Is it reasonable for me, who is a home consumer and does not drink more than one or two coffees a day, to pay this fee?
@Wholelattelovepage Жыл бұрын
Hi there. Although upgrading your burrs is a fun way to take your coffee game to the next level, for a one or two coffee-per day drinker, I feel like you would be fine in sticking with the stock burrs. --BRYAN

@@Wholelattelovepage My other question is that in order for the coffee not to stay inside the grinder to change the taste of the next coffee because it gets old, do you have to use single dose grinders or do good grinders not keep extra coffee? Of course, single doses require more patience because we must weigh the coffee beans before grinding, which is a problem for me.

I’m not a fan of Eureka. I own a Ceado E6p which I love. The Ceado E37Z Barista RS is a dream but also an overkill for home users. The Mazzer Philos is the one I am looking forward, since the burrs geometry should boost taste of light roasted beans. And in the end, I would say owning two grinders with different burr-set characteristics is perfect. Mahlkonig has also some unique choices that I do not consider

Stay away from Eureka, I bought a Silenzio last year and during cleaning when I tried to remove the bottom burr (second time) the threads of one of 3 holes got damaged. Metal there was very soft even though I was very carefull. Now I can't find a replacement part for the burr carrier. So just for one tiny crew of size M3 I can't operate the grinder. Unreal. Not to mention that removing the burr carrier doesn't look so easy.

Hi mate .. eureka mignon zero vs eurka 65 single dose ?
@Wholelattelovepage Жыл бұрын
Hi there. This is a tough one. Both of them have benefits. The Zero has 55mm flat burrs and the Oro SD has 65mm, so the Oro SD grinds faster. The Zero has a portafilter fork for grinding directly into your portafilter and the Oro SD only grinds into the dosing cup. Ease of use is going to be the same between them, with both of them operating the same. The Oro SD's angled design is nice for retention (although both are almost identical in that metric), but it also means that it has a little larger countertop footprint. They are both wonderful grinders and are sure to provide years of precision grinding for a home user. --BRYAN

I think its important to point out a lot of people commenting about other grinders and brands they like are probably in the minority and are drinking several different coffees and are into a very different espresso profiles than a majority of espresso drinkers but more importantly are also into espresso as a hobby so far that they are willing to be their own espresso grinder fixer and tinkerer. If you want a good level of support, stateside and available customer support, and want "it just works out of the box" then these are the options you should look at. There is a plethora of grinders out there but you need to think about your life if something goes wrong too. If you dont want to fix it yourself or dont have the time for downtime then these options come with WLL able to support you and get a tech OR replacemrnt to you within days. I say this as someone with grinders that go well far and beyond "home espresso grinder" ranges and wholly support these recomendations if Whole Latte Love is your shop of choice. For those deep into the hobby, ignore this video as anything more than to see what others might be using. You did your own research for *your* level of tolerance for self support, dont be a jerk.

Other comments got blown out by this one. Amazing comment man. As an avid wine, food, mixologist/cocktail enthusiast and bbq/smoking fanatic it was only a matter of time coffee got me. I’ve always drank coffee here (Puerto Rico) as it’s a way of life but recently o took some out of town family to a 100 percent original coffee hacienda waaaaaaaay up in the mountains (awesome trek) and yup, I’m going down the coffee rabbit hole. The problem is that every time I think I have a product narrowed down, I read some of these crazy comments (modded grinders, install PID). I bought a Kamado Joe because I wanted quality without massive upgrading (ie Oklahoma joe). I’m really looking at Eureka zero mainly because of the quality and keeping beans fresh in a vacuum bin. Any recs on if I should get another one (ie Specialita) and buy/add the single dosing bellow? Not even sure if that’s possible. For the machine was looking at the Gaggia evo pro (lower end of budget) vs the Profitec GO (max budget for this endeavor). Any thoughts? Thanks again for that comment!
