Can I use Durgol or Dezcal to descale the Magenta Prestige? I have a whole stock of both and don't want to buy Gaggia solution if not needed :)

Hello Thank you for the excellent review, can you share what is good setting for espresso to use as starting point, of course it will vary but what to use as a start i got the machine few days ago and am currently around 6 setting (i did the empty run with burrs touching around setting 1 like in your review) thank you in advance for the reply.

I use an Ascaso uno pid & Eureka mignon tradizione grinder with a scale. I always grind 18 grams and extract approximately 25 seconds ❤at 8-9 bars. My question: what is the ideal bar pressure I should aim…if that question makes sense? Thanks, Marc, Quebec, Canada 🇨🇦 ☕️

Hi, Marc! Since you also sell the Lelit line and have access to the Scace device, could you tell us what static pressure value the Lelit Elizabeth manometer will show when adjusting the OPV to reach 9 bar of pressure in the group head using the Scace?

I so appreciate this video. I replicated the lever shot on my Profitec Drive and it removed so much acidity from my shot. I was pleasantly surprised how much it changed my shot profile while still using the same roast.

Thanks for a great overview. Just ordered mine!! 🎉 I’m a complete home barista newbie and have a question. Being a PID Heat Exchanger machine will I need to perform a cooling flush before pulling shots? I’ll mainly be using med/dark roasts so will have the boiler temp on the medium setting. Gone down the espresso rabbit hole and so many different opinions! Thanks for all the great content 👍🏻
@Wholelattelovepage15 сағат бұрын
Hi John, you're welcome! Doing a short flush prior to pulling a shot on an HX boiler machine is always a good practice. How long you flush depends on how long the machine has been on and idle. Temps tend to creep up a bit with long periods of inactivity.

I was thinking the other day I could make a replacement boiler from bronze, except it would cost a bomb in time and material. Cast is much better than machined from solid. My hobby is model engineering and we're not supposed to use brass for boiler fittings because boiling water leaches the zinc from the brass and makes it honeycomb and crumble. We see the fittings fall apart fairly frequently. I guess there's enough brass in the boiler to not worry too much about it, or it has some coating that will stop it. I think I'd much rather this than the aluminium one.

What's the ONE machine that grinds beans, makes excellent tamped coffee in the holder, and then allows proper foaming of milk (not like Nespresso frothers).

The best coverage of this super anywhere! I'm confused though. 🤔 If the max dose (grinder supplied) is 11.5g then why is the preground dose limited to 7g? I understand the warning against 2 scoops. 14g (2x7g scoops) would overload the brew group. But if somebody precisely measured out say 9g or 10g, why would that be bad? Don't the grounds just end up in the same pocket in the brew group for tamping anyway? I just find the 7g dose to be anemic. Even k-cups run 9-12g. Unfortunately, in our family the preground would be used 1-2x a day for regular beans. The grinder basket will be populated with decaf. I know, right? 😂 Any ideas on this? Is the preground limit actually only 7g?

How often is it needed to descale the e24?
@Wholelattelovepage22 сағат бұрын
Hi jb, Answer depends on your source water hardness (mineral level). Specifically how much calcium is in your water. If your water is classified as "soft" meaning a low mineral level then you may not need to descale at all. Soft water has a total hardness of less than 70ppm total dissolved solids or total hardness of 4 degrees or less. If higher than those readings descale every 1 - 3 months with average daily use. 1x month for very hard water out to 1x every 3 months for softer water at 100ppm/6 degrees. If you know your water is hard and/or you prefer not to descale you can filter water to reduce calcium level. We recommend solutions from BWT Water and More. When used as directed they reduce calcium buy exchanging it for magnesium to maintain a mineral level needed for best flavor that will not cause scale. 3 BWT Options: 1. Hi, I have been using a Bezzera Unica for years and I am happy with it. I don't like milky things, so I only make espresso and ristretto. Is it worth upgrading to an Aria Top machine? I have always wanted a rotary pump machine, but I am not sure if it makes better quality coffee. Thanks Artur

I'm from Italy and I always read to put 7g for every single 25-30ml cup of espresso. KZbinrs abroad recommend the double dose if not even much more, like 15-18 grams in 30 grams of coffee out. Could you help me clarify my ideas? The nespresso capsule also does not contain more than 5-7 grams of powder.

Mine just runs too fast tho I already grind my beans finer and increase my dose. Any tips?
@Wholelattelovepage15 сағат бұрын
Hi k, What make/model grinder are you using? If running too fast the answer is almost always grind finer. Some grinders are not capable off properly grinding for espresso.

Hi Marc. I’m in the process of setting up my first Espresso purchases and am struggling to pick a grinder. I currently brew with a drip or French press utilizing a Baratza Virtuoso that has worked well for those methods. So…..do I buy a grinder to serve all my needs (Life X, Libre AP) or buy a grinder to work alongside the Virtuoso (Twist, Magnifica, Specialita, something else). I’m preordering a Move and would be willing to spend up to Libre AP pricing ( if it makes sense) if it can grind espresso substantially better than other options. I would by a single dosing Zero but need the ability to dose timed or weighted grinding to keep everyone happy, so plus one to the Life X. I feel that grind retention is big on my list of important factors as well. How would one of the Eureka grinders with the single dosing kit compare to the Life X? When comparing the Twist vs the Life X are there any benefits in grind quality to either? Something in the back of my mind is telling me that there is a downside to 50mm in the Life X ……. I know that was a lot, please help! TY

Absolutely love this video! I just ordered a refurbished one from you guys and I can’t wait. Two questions for you, Do you need to do a cooling flush in between shots to achieve that temperature accuracy? And Does a refurbished one come with all the accessories that a new one would come with? Thanks so much!
@Wholelattelovepage15 сағат бұрын
Hi f, thanks for your patronage! You do not have to do a cooling flush. A short rinse is fine to clean the group. The heated group head delivers consistent temps.

If use pressurized basket then single is much easier to pull. With non pressurised basket, single is mission impossible guys. Unless you are Italian that is another story. I saw an Italian barman in Milano pulling a single, how? he prepared a double and split it into two cups and served me one shot espresso. It is much tastier that way if you don't want the amount of caffein in a double shot. It was late night so a single was enough. Voilà my friends !
