Loving T. Realm as spicy old-school tech. Cool art. Cool card. Also, man is this just the heart of "deeply broken turn" style Storm. The ole when you pop off, you really pop off play pattern.

Hey Tony for context on what the second opponent said in chat. Blahaj is a stuffed shark made by Ikea that young trans communities are really in to. To translate the message fully "my friend said if I win they'll buy me a stuffed shark"

If the op chooses enchantment with teferis realm you'll get it back during your untap step and still get a trigger in your own upkeep to get rid of their hate for a turn. Cool tech!

Jace can play a little better against endurance because you can hold a brainstorm and if they endurance you brainstorm and win in response.

Otawara can be used to cast the first high tide, so it doesn't reduce your mana unless untappers are used.

I'm sure you found out in the other hour of the video, but just talking about mentality, there's Defense Grid on the sideboard, you were thinking about your opponents turn and that's why it was hard to figure out Teferi's Realm. this version of the deck is supposed to not care about what the opp is doing

Teferi's realm - Doesn't matter what they choose. If they choose enchantment, whatever. Realm will phase back in on your turn and then you choose whatever piece of hate you need to in order to go off. You an nuke a thalia/canonist, you can phase out a chalice of the void, etc. It's an expensive catch-all anti-hate piece

At 54:20, it's actually not true that you do not need any permission if your plan is to cast another High Tide. At that point, their USea can now tap for 3 U mana, allowing them to Force pitch blue spell + tap USea for the 3 mana needed for Defense Grid. Obviously, it did not matter and you might not even care. I just thought it is worth mentioning here because that could have been a blowout given what else is in your hand.
@kirdiekirdie Жыл бұрын
Match 1 last game the opponent could have won immediately by thoughtseizing Jace and then Reclaimer for Bojuka Bog, leaving you with no win con.
@TonyScapone Жыл бұрын
Yes. Luckily, we aren't playing open deck list 😅
@RagingPoo Жыл бұрын
If you don't like Defense Grid, maybe a better idea is putting a Tropical Island and some Veil of Summer in the board, replacing some of the Force of Negation as well. It seems like that would be good vs the non-Wastland control decks.
@TonyScapone Жыл бұрын
I feel like this deck already crushes non-wasteland control decks though. Not a bad idea though.

I just thought about a crazy anti surgical tech. One cunning wish in the sideboard and you can replace a high tide with it in post board games. Probably horrible and you'd much rather just run 4 high tides but the idea is cool.
@TonyScapone Жыл бұрын
Cute but yea, not ideal. Especially since we have usually already resolved one anyways and will still win most of the time, assuming that they get past our permission as well.

@@TonyScaponealso i was thinking, in the end you were talking about the defense grids being a bit in contrast with playing forces, that are kinda needed in those interactive matchups. One thing that might be cool, could be instead of playing 2 grids, playing 2 hope of ghirapur, they don't cover bowmasters or breachers, but assuming those are the matches in which you wanna play grids and also snap/dress downs, you probably already have them covered, and since this build runs no faeries, after g1 opponents might cut all removal spells, that way it would almost always connect and you are "free" from interactions even post wheels or with a lot of mana available to opponent
@TonyScapone Жыл бұрын
@mattiabragantini1152 you'd have to tell Marcus, he's the expert! Sounds reasonable. Blockers are annoying too tho.
