Yes alot of western movies were filmed around here. Its a pretty short drive to California and Hollywood. It was much cheaper to film out in the desert in Arizona and they have alot of different types of desert scenery to choose from.

@@CodyAbroad closest is about 45mins drive, pretty good workout. Its called The You Yangs (small mountain). Once you reach to top you can see Melbourne city and Geelong city.
